The thing is, if they were to go this route you can almost be assured that there would be a looting system involved. I would imagine instance content would have Unique/Untradeable attire, and if they kept the current "leave it where it lies" loot system, I can see this instantly becoming a large issue, especially if "random DPS A" were to obtain a shield, which "dedicated tank A" could have used. This is one of the many examples in which loot can essentially be "stolen" though yes, that's a poor word to use.

Going to quit this game if we get cross-server grouping. Makes the game feel like a D2/FPS RPG and not a MMO at all. No, no no no nononononononono

3.) Let me be the second to say that this is something as a player that I DO NOT WANT having experienced it in other games. I don't want to reiterate all the reasons that these systems are horrid in terms of what they do to a server community; there are already one or two threads dedicated to the subject.
I agree with this, Cross-server parties have been nothing but a complete mess on other games. There is no reaso nto think that on this game, it will be any different.

Yes, it is an easy option to grab a quick party. However, at what point does this game advertise itself as being quick? Not only that, but joining a random party at a click of a button promotes player laziness. In time, this will trickle to other aspects of the game, eg: "oh im not hitting level cap quick enough......." or "hey, i want that sword, bow, spear etc WITHOUT having to do XYZ"

you see where i am going with this.

By all means, adjust the party finder system (although personally the only issue I have with it, is that people are not using it), OR, promote a way for players to speak with each other. Idea off the top of my head: partys made up of members of 3 linkshells or more means no durrability lost durring that party formation, inc death.

I would rather have something like that, than a cross server match-making option.

ps: yes, I have got a bee in my bonnet about this lol

Unless they somehow find a way to integrate all the servers to function as one large world. now that would be an amazing feet and really bring the whole community together.

But could you imagine the load on the systems if that actually happened, then we start introducing the PS3 community?

I've always wondered what is the server capacity anyways? 5k 10k 15k users per server?

Another note, something I would love to see regarding the instance dungeons/raids + pvp. Is after the boss has been beat, to have some form of stats show up so that players can see how they did, how much damage, how much healed, etc... I think this would be a fun way to see how you did in the party.... (perhaps optional, but otherwise just a fun addition)

    Level Sync {Can I Have It}

I really wish they would look into level sync as an option it would solve so many problems. In our LS one of our members needed to take a week or so off while we were all R45 and obviously by the time she returned we had hit R50 and started on our next set of classes. We have used a few of our Leve runs on our R50's solely to help boost her up to R50 (currently R47 I believe) but it would have been so much better if she could just have level synced with our new classes. We also have all of our job at R25+ and other than her R47 her next highest was R18 so we still couldn't really party with her so have been trying to powerlevel her to catch us up. Level sync would have solved all those problems and allowed us to play together.

Looking at it from a casuals point of view (I'm not casual just so you know) I can definately see the appeal of cross server dungeons and I'm sure SE are considering it based on that.

They want to make this game a casual MMO, so adding casual features makes sense.

I think it would be best adding this to the 3rd players poll to see what the majority of people think and not just the "noisy" few who post here.

    No, no, no, no no...

They said they wanted to make the game casual-friendly. Not casual. There's a world of difference.

I am all for great LFG options but I am highly opposed to cross server dungeons. I have played other MMOs with this feature and it kills server communities. There has already been a lot of discussion on why many people share this opinion I hope it is taken into consideration. Cross server queueing made WoW feel like a shallow lobby game and not a world. Everyone stands in town queueing for PvP or Dungeons. It is one of the biggest reasons I left WoW and I probably won't hang around FF14 if this happens either. I am looking for world + community feel which the genre seems to be losing.
