I only play Japanese games... o.o (and not really the mainstream stuff either)

Don't call me ignorant though when your the one claiming JRPG's as the same genre as MMO's.

I know very well that Aion was korean.

Give me some examples of other Japanese MMO's though.

Post above edited check um out sometime, and yes you can have a JRPG MMO. Do you break all MMO's down to Western and Eastern? because Japaneses MMO's are drastically different from Korean MMO's.

If you want i can give you more titles but you would not be able to play them, they are strictly Japanese. I only know all this because my friend lives in Japan and i visit him whenever i get the chance.

You know even tho I can easily live without a dungeon que system, I think as long as most off you die hard people that hate everything not ff related are going to make this game fail hardcore. A good mmo takes the best things from EVERY mmo that is currernt doing well and puts it into its game in some way. I played ffxi for 4 years. It was really good for its time but things change. I can never go back to ffxi but I will always remember how fun it was. All im saying is that at this point im trying to like ffxiv as much as I possibly can but its really not there. Im basicly forcing myself to do leve quest just cause im hoping one day this game will be great and I wont be left behind. It NEEDS change and to be against eveything westen mmo's have to offer is just ignorant and asking for ffxiv to fail.

I will repeat this is not a WESTERN MMO! this is a JRPG so if any innovation is going to happen let them develop it on their own without ripping off western MMO's. JRPG's have all ways focused heavily on the community as a whole, rather than whose gear score is better.

EDIT: i know elitesim is every where, but when you integrate it into your game then you know you have problems aka gear score.

I personally dislike the idea of joining ppl from other servers.

Ok, I agree it will make forming partys a bit easier and more convenient, however...

....On any MMO this has been implimented, it leads to lack of respect to other players. Ninja looting, poor gameplay (it's hard to establish a stratagy with ppl you only see once). Also, how do you hope to make friends when you are unable to keep contact?

If you are finding it difficult to form partys, why not set up a linkshell and get a few like-minded people on a regular contact? Personally, I would rather regularly play with people I have formed a friendship with, than people who have no interest in my goals and I have little interests in theirs

also this idea of cross server dungeons. . . . ya no thanks. This is the last thing this game needs.


I do have a question about dungeons though, asides from an instanced boss at the end what is the big deal about these anyways? I am serious now, I am all for content but I am sure there is more to think than adding 40+ dungeons to constantly crawl through. I hope its not bland, and faceroll through it.

Please do not yell out hardcore or anything like that, I want this to be hard like barely get through it and a bit of luck gets involved. Let every one access it fine with me just the content does need to be tough where very second counts. Than if that happens it will be worth it.

Everyone in this thread that does not want SE to copy at least SOME of the successful ideas in WoW and other WRPGS are stupid idiots and YOU are the reason for this game will fail.

Taking GOOD ideas that worked in a very sucessful games is the BEST thing SE can do right now because all of SE ideas SUCK ASS when this game launched and all of YOU people asked for a change.

With that being said i dont particularly want a cross server que per say but i also do not want to never find a party. (like this game is now) You can not find a party at all. so CHANGE needs to be made and as far as i know there is NEVER a issue with finding a party in WoW soooo people in this thread needs to stop being so damn ignorant to sucessful WESTERN ideas because eastern devs suck in this day in age... Sorry to say.

I'd rather SE take concepts from their previous FINAL FANTASY games like XI did, or even borrow the basics and event system items from XI (that was a successful MMO of theirs) than start ripping off random MMOs. Most MMOs post 2004 are realistically just a clone of WoW, which was a clone of many MMOs before it, so all they would be taking is the basic chat system, jumping and leveling through quests while leaving out as much story as possible.

I don't know about you, but I play MMORPGs for socialization and storylines...RPGs have storylines, most MMOs do not. FFXIV can do very well not going down the path of having a storyline told only through a slideshow or website backstory.
