    XIII is good or bad depending on whether or not you like/dislike linear storytelling, which seemed to be the biggest complaint with that game. (I didn't mind it, as it worked within the fugitive storyline.) As for FFXIV, I've been seeing more and more people online as of late, many who I was pretty sure had left months ago. I even ran into an old LS-mate from FFXI just yesterday. That would tell me that the game is now at a point where it can compete with the rest of the MMO market, even if it is not taking up the majority of the market share, so how is SE messing up?

    Also, I really don't think you can solidly define a Final Fantasy game, as they all add something new or different to the franchise. I'm sure people screamed that FF isn't an MMO when XI came out, nine years later, it's considered one of the definitive titles. Hell, the original game was to be the last game published by Square before declaring bankruptcy back in the 80's. (Hence the "Final") I honestly doubt most of the so-called fanboys who are whining about how the franchise is going downhill had ever heard about the series or even cared until FF7 came out.

    Ah, that makes more sense.

    However, I don't think it would sell well enough to be worth it. Too many people would want the whole nine yards.

    Back to topic, I like XIII, didn't care for XII as much, and I agree previous ones were better. However, I still like FF games overall better than any others. The only games that rank up there with them for me is Kingdom Hearts, which is still SE. So, yes, I want to see more FF games in the future.

    The point is they can't even remake their own game. There are fandubs and a fan retexture of FF7, although the latter is not consistent because many different people contributed with their style.
    The problem is that SE is so constrained by making "AAA" games it can't make exceptional games anymore, or even just games with the same amount of content. Isn't that wrong?

    holy crap i goto school and come back to a shit storm.
    I feel that FF games are all pretty similar, until they got to number 10, there were some small differences along they way sure but nothing so glaring that when i put in a sytem i was like WTF FF is an action game now!?(looking at you 13 >_>), im not saying i have played every FF game out there but, i played and beat alot of them, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13. I just think the main thing is that SE took this turn to try and reinvent the FF series, 10,12,13 when the system they were useing was just fine, and the reason we all bought those games was becuase we liked that system, when SE releases a new FF game, people automatically think back to what they know FF to be, an rpg with certain elements... i mean i bought 13 the day it came out cause i was tricked by many other millions of people...I can even accept games like Dirge of cerberus even though i thought it was boring as shit. because i knew from the get go that i wasnt buying a classic style FF game. So when i pop in FF 10,12,13 expecting a standard FF game and i get something different i start to wonder whats going on?

    is 14 broken? yeah its pretty broken, but its still similar enough to 11 that i enjoy it. I think they will fix it up, but just looking at this intial disaster of ff14, its easy to see that SE is really messing up, especially when they admit it.

    so come on SE get it together and redeem yourselves. were waiting.

    oh side rant: WTF WAS FFX-2! brain explosion

    You see, the error in logic you're making here is that you are putting forth the premise that your opinion is fact. It is not. "Exceptional", "Great", "Good".... these are all subjective words. You may think something is bad, but someone else thinks it's good.

    FF13 was a very solid title, Even though it lacked other things that even I craved in a FF title. Overall it was a good game and good story, very story driven pushing you forward. Did get a little boring to me at times but still a game worthy of a FF title imho.
