    Dungeon Time Limit

    I really think this aspect of the game needs to go. As it stands, people are basically punished for sticking it out in a bad group. Last night I was in a group with a very under average tank in Brayflox's Longstop. We all decided to stick it out and help the tank learn the fights and what to do and get better with every fight, but there were many wipes along the way, especially while he learned how to dodge the breath of the last boss. Finally, we were about to finish the boss, everything was looking great and the boss was a few percent from dying, when the game froze and DUTY FAILED popped up right before being ported out, essentially wasting my hour and a half in queue plus my hour and a half in the dungeon, as I still haven't completed it for the story. This serves no purpose game play wise, and I would discuss it further, but your ridiculous 1000 character limit on forum posts prevents me from doing so.

    This serves no purpose game play wise
    Disagree, it encourages efficiency and good play. Brayflox is quite generous on the timer, i'm surprised you managed to use it all but you can just requeue and complete it.

    Yeah I don't really understand the point of the time limit. It should also be variable, for later dungeons it should be higher at least, especially if it's the first time someone's run it (they need more time to learn the mechanics, eg).

    Efficient and good gameplay should be its own reward. You shouldn't be punished for 1 bad group member. When queue's are an hour and a half, it is a big letdown. And looking at it, all dungeons are limited to 90 minutes.

    I would understand timers on hard modes etc that you wouldn't be pugging, but in random dungeon finders i think it is a huge negative.

    Right now it's implemented as a means to shuttle people out of instances so they don't end up taking valuable space (like the people who are currently AFK logged on and taking up space). Considering the sheer volume of people that are playing, it might be a necessity. The devs expressed interest in possibly eliminating the timer at some point as long as it doesn't screw up battle balance (which I don't think will be an issue - bosses reset when you wipe and you can't rejoin a fight if you return to the dungeon entrance).

    That said the timer is extremely generous, dungeons are balanced to be completed in 30-45 minutes, and your situation was a very unique case. Props to sticking with and helping out the bad tank, but it really is your choice whether or not to put up with people like that if the win is that important to you and there is nothing wrong with you preferring a win since it's your time.

    If I was in that situation I'd feel much better about having helped out a player that in the long run would have ended up hurting others' fun with their inexperience, especially as Brayflox begins the content difficulty where you really can't carry dead weight anymore.

    Yeah, with queue times, it is unfortunate that dungeon timer caused you to lose. But did you know there were RPGers complaining that they couldn't sit in an instance indefinitely so they could role-play in those locations? The timer is there so you can't take up space on the instance server.

    i agree with the op that happened to me yesterday we were all first timers and we wiped like 3 times before we recognize what we have to do

    but the time is up so we got booted out, and unfortunately the party was cross server so we can't go in again to continue

    we need time to explain for new ppl how the mechanics works and sometime ppl just got dc and etc etc

    i hope they do something about it

    There should be an option to keep the same group even after the time limit. It's sad to be forced to disband when we have fun in a party (yes we can have fun even when not succeding in a dungeon).

    But I think that the time limits should stay.

    IT is needed to maintain DPS checks. Otherwise, you could just take 12 hours to go through Coil with AF gear.
