Heals for Scholors need a buff

Ah yes, the old "Scholar is fine because White Mage isn't" routine... I hope they split these forums into individual Jobs soon, though if XI is anything to go off, that wont solve anything.

I don't think anyone (except for maybe one guy replying to this thread, who likes to rage) think's Scholars are fine based on the condition of white mage. But Scholar is a far cry from being outright "broken" or "unplayable" as a main healer as it stands.

It absolutely needs some QoL changes in a few areas, but they're just that, quality of life.

Lol so many tards without a clue. Have you done Aurum? There is no way to keep your pet alive as when you eat the fruit it does not clear the debuff from your pet. The debuff ticks for 200 with only 1 stack and like 600 with 3 I think, then the boss does an attack that if you have the debuff you get hit like a truck. This is a problem for SUM as well.

And I think SCH healing is fine, I actually think it is much more fun than WHM as you have to manage a pet as well. I have not had a problem solo healing anything except Aurum. And that was tough only because we had a SUM as well whose pet kept dying so he had to rely solely on his DoTs for damage so the fight dragged on for a long time, he was able to spot heal a bit while the fight was going on to help out when I started going OOM after like 10 minutes of this fight.

There is a reason why Leechs is a unique job ability for Scholar and Esuna is a unique CNJ/WHM ability.

Its because they want status effect removal to be only on healers, if it wasn't, why would you want to waste the healer's time removing debuffs in a fight when you can have someone else remove them equally effectively, possibly more so if they don't normally use their MP?

And if you wonder why they don't just make Esuna like Cleric stance and let it only be on CNJ/WHM/SCH, its because Status effect removal is an important job in later dungeons, its because they don't want to force a player to play more of a class than the bare minimum to unlock another classes' jobs, just imagine how bad it would be for any SCH who didn't play enough CNJ to unlock Esuna without Leeches, they would be pretty much unplayable in certain dungeons.

I humbly disagree with this statement as for Monk can have dmg buff from Lancer Blood for blood and that is lvl34 and Esuna is only lvl18 - so that what first 3 easy dungeons playthrough?

Take thaumaturge to 26, cross class swift cast. If your pet dies swift cast > summon pet.

I healed both Cutters Cry, Qarn and Vigil last night as SCH.

I can promise you, SCH heals are just fine. If anyone is having problems, I was at first, it is because you are fighting the classes mechanics. Your pet is a totem, place it, forget it (except for aoe regen) and make it heel when you move to the next pull.

Eos' AOE is incredibly powerful when used with Succor. I can bring a group from near death to full while under fire just as quickly as with my WHM. Not having Leeches until 40 is annoying, but until Vigil there hasn't been any debuf brute healing couldn't bypass.

I was HIGHLY skeptical of the class at first, barring pets not leaving Gaurd when directly having them cast, I think the class is fine as is.

I'm finding that I'm having a mixed experience healing mid-level dungeons, though part of it seems to be the fact that people just don't listen to actual strategy, and I get swarmed. This saying that I'm not even 40 yet and have no AoE heal on my Scholar. I'd blame the tanks, but I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for me since I seem to run into healer aggro troubles a lot (despite consistently alternating the bulk of my healing between myself and Eos/Selene so that the fairy is getting as much of the aggro as possible without letting tanks die.)

Heals for scholar are fine. A good scholar can keep the party from spiking so much in dmg taken. As for qarn, when you get doom on your faiy she will follow youon the plarform and be dispelled. I never had her die at all.

When running with selene you have awesome group buffs resulting in faster clears than with a whm. So I would not really say we need a buff in anyway.

scholar is the only class that can DPS (summoner) and heal, there heals are great i think scholar is good (up to 35 dunno about endgame). Threads like this just as the devs to make a class that already have a big advantage over other classes are lame.
