I am having the same issue too but at different area. I was running toward the boat to go to Limsa from Ulda and crashed near the port and game keep crashing mid way of login process. I tried to log onto the game from my other character and no problem at all. So for sure it wasn't a problem with my pc must be something with the game area server.
