That's not really how smn works. They cast single target DoT, then have an ability that spreads Bio/Bio2/Miasma to all nearby targets, keeping their remaining duration.
Mark your targets so the DPS won't take the hate from an enemy you're not building on.
Actually, here. I did this in the 'many tanks are bad' thread.
DPS should keep their focus on the tanks marks unless otherwise necessary.
If targeted by an enemy, don't run away out of the tanks range.
It's a tanks job to keep enemies from attacking the other players.
Nice illustrations, should be easy enough for even theist simpleton to learn from . Should let us paste these on dungeon walls before it starts lol
Until SE either buffs AoE threat or gives GLA/PLD more AoE tools, literally can do nothing but hope that DPS focus fires.
DPS players should focus fire to avoid getting aggro. If they are not, then that's on the bad dps players. Tanks should try to mark their targets so the dps know what to target. If dps players have difficulty with target selection, they should get used to macros. Even as a healer, I've been marking targets 1, 2, 3, and the tank will focus on 1 with the dps on it as well. I still get quite a bit of healing aggro on secondary targets, but I have a feeling that's been because the tank hasn't been using his abilities properly on multiple targets. I had one tank that basically said that he can only hold one target and that I must heal tank the others until he gets to them. Of course, I freaked out a little after dying a few times, but by the end of it, he was holding his targets like a champ. FF14 has an aggro system that requires teamwork and that's fine. Players just need to get used to this difference in gameplay from other MMOs.
basically i think u just salvage blade one mob.
U should cycle through all your mobs and u will realize that it helps to gain better threat and make the game eventually more faster for AOE
I have the same issue man. I've had blms in groups that do nothing but AOE and it just makes it so difficult. I try doing my rotation shield lob[1]->flash [group]->fast [1] -> savage [2]-> RoH [3] -> flash [group]. Then I spread out some shield swipes to 2,3 and spirits within on 1.
It still doesn't seem like enough sometimes. :/

If I'm reading this right. Cycle through mobs to build hate on each individual one if your DPS members don't follow the number markings properly. Of course I guess you can't really do the cycle thing if you have a blm sleeping the ones you aren't currently fighting. Basically easiest if your DPS cooperates. Sorry if it seems like I'm talking to myself but I am trying my hand at tanking and I want to verify all info I pick up.
In other news, that picture hate management picture is the best.

This except you shouldn't even wait for some one else to be attacking other enemies. Pull with provoke (or shield lob), flash to make sure they stay on you for a moment, 1+2, then flash again, +3, +1 on main enemy, then +2 on another enemy, then +3 on a third enemy if there is one and then switch back to the main target. This gives you more leeway to wail on the main target and make it die.
Mob [1], Mob [2], Mob [3]
Shield Lob primary target [1] on pull.
Fast Blade on Mob [1], Savage Blade (Enmity Bonus) on Mob [1].
Throw in a flash.
then you can tab around and see if any of the DPS are ignoring your markings. Let's say Archer is shooting [3].
You can Fast Blade [1], then Savage [3] and change targets.
If you have a thm/blm that is actually sleeping things, this shouldn't be necessary (in fact it'd be detrimental) but otherwise, flash aoe spam isn't ideal for the duration of the fight. It's really only to get the initial hate.
Yes, if you do this you need to be careful not to break sleep. One thing I've noticed is that some summoner DOT abilities don't seem to break sleep. Meaning that they could pull aggro once the sleep wears off. Usually this is not a huge deal, but is annoying and something you may need to watch out for. If you're watching for it you can usually provoke and get it back quickly though. If I'm reading this right.
