The lobby server connection has encountered an error #2002

Morning everybody, i just woke up to start playing an i encountered whit error 1017 on character select!!! how that´s possible? then i tryed several time whit same resul but the last try i got error on lobby 2002. Any from support who can explain this?

I got it to, twice, cannot start game.

Yep same thing happend to me this morning... all ports are forwarding, and i have internet connection (duh!)... Hope this issue is them, because I was doing fine 7 hours ago.

OK game kicked me out after error 2002, now i have to fully relog and hope it lets me in.... puffff thas alot to redo

If you were playing fine then it is 100% them. I have been playing since early access started and today I also get this error. There is no way it is a fault with the users.

Anyone getting these errors should run a ping test to a random website to see your connection before/during/after trying to log in to FFXIV.
I have been doing this and FFXIV seems to be causing a overall connectivity issue when you try to login and you should see your internet connection stabilize once it kicks you or you exit out.

ALSO, I notice now when its a connection issue by simply watching how the Rating Screen and "Square Enix" logo show up before you get to the start button. Both will appear as if they are stuttering or it takes a long time to get to the actual start button.

I've been having this same error for some time now. Also I get "Pure virtual function call" crash randomly. I know the connection issue isn't normally client side. I have a continuous ping running to google dns (8.8.8.8) and have had connection trouble only with this game.

I know they'll try to blame you and your side, but with all these problems showing up and everyone trying to (re)connect, the servers are being overloaded. As they say, they are working on upgrading the servers, meaning they can't handle the amount of traffic they are getting. My guess is it's a LOT higher than they were anticipating.

From what I can tell, with all the people connecting, the clients are basically conducting a DDOS attack on the server without knowing it. Simply by spamming connect.

No issue with my ISP, dude its obvious, the complains are coming from people from different places, im from mexico there´s no way everybody got the same ISP issue
