Game still occasionally crashes with alt tab, 1017 before even reaching char select

well this is a first, now I get 1017 before I can even select a character (which doesn't make much sense, because I haven't tried to log into a world yet).

And all because i crashed on tabbing out to check some news.... While most of the time you can alt tab from fullscreen without issues, it still crashes occasionally. Which right now means you might be able to play all day just because you got really unlucky. =\

So don't risk it. Don't alt tab, or don't use full screen.

I'm getting to 1017 error before clicking my char also. And I didn't alt-tab at all.

Yup didn't alt tab at all, was just sitting here going through the clicking routine to log in and then got the lobby server error. Closed the client and now I am getting 1017 before even getting access to the lobby. Guess I don't get to play today.

Use Borderless Windowed, it's not a terrible alternative.

when im not getting this error... my character dosen't load.. it only gives me the option to create a character on a JP world... i dont want more then one character i want to play my character...

The only reason I don't is because I can't use Game Capture in OBS unless the game is in full screen (which has a much lower impact on performance than streaming with window capture)

If this happens, exit the game completely and launch it again, it will refresh the world lists a lot sooner. Otherwise you have to wait a couple minutes before it will try to get the server lists again.
