Agreed.

I'd do the following to fix crafting:
1)make synths 'harder'
2)increase potency of abilities
3)reduce overall effect of luck

Ideally, one should be able to overcome the effects of luck by using abilities, but currently that isn't the case. Luck and relative craft rank are still the biggest factors.
