Character Creation Restriction / Server Transfer

I apologize in advance if anyone takes a question about this topic offensive and feels the need to troll but i have a question and it seems that the community is the best source for info.

My situation:

I have several friends on Levi server who i have been playing with since phase 3. I also have an account which is locked do to an error while putting in the PS3 reg code. It for some reason created me a 2nd service account which is now the active account with the 30 day free sub and no characters. I am fine with this as i am sure at some point SE will try and fix my problem as i am not the only one who has had this issue.

My question, since Levi server is full would it be wise to go ahead and create another character on another server in hopes that SE will provide free character transfers for a short period to those loyal customers who have had to play on other servers because of the current restrictions which is no fault of the customer?

No one knows. I would -love- for SE to step in and give us an idea of how the intend to implement new servers and handle server transfers. Right now I have friends on Gilgamesh, and I need to know if a) I'll ever be able to transfer there and b) if transfers will be restricted for those of us who are new but decided to roll on Legacy servers.

It's a gamble. That's what me and my friends did. We are scattered across multiple servers. We plan on finding a server to settle on once the dust settles and see what's what. They do plan on some sort of compensation just don't know exactly what that would be. Worst case scenario you have to start a new character. Not exactly my ideal solution but just going to have to suck it up or pay for the transfer service when that feature goes live.

I keep telling my friend to wait until next week for this to be solved. He is whatsoever not willing to play unless we play together specially since its his first mmorpg ever. I really hope they fix this next week like Mr. Naoki promissed.
Edit: only reason my friend considered to play a mmo in first place was to play with me in contrary of that it beats the purpose so no point for him to play.

My wife and I are in the same situation. I'm just annoyed that the 30 days on her account are ticking away even though she doesn't have a character.

I appreciate the replies and i will more than likely just suck up the cost of paying to have my character transfered. Its always good to get other peoples views on certain situations. It helps to make a more clear decision.

Im sure they will do something. They know a ton of us are in this exact same boat. I got a buddy that bought the game from gamestop last night and he was luckily able to make a character on Ultros which is NA, so thats good. But me and 2 other RL friends are on Balmung. We will all gladly transfer to a new server to help spread out the player base.
I really dont see any other way to get players spread over new worlds without them letting everyone transfer once for free. Im just scared of all the transfers at the same time might cause other problems, but must not think bad thoughts like that

Wait what??? She has an active account but isnt playing because yall arent on the same server?! She will most likely be able to transfer to ur server or the other way around once they get the new servers up and stable. She must not be that interested in the game if thats the only reason shes not playing now.

I have a family member that has seen how much fun I am having and they want to buy the game and play with me, but he is putting off buying the game until we find out if we can play together in the future. I am playing with a my long term guild and don't want to leave them, but new characters can't be made on our server. If this doesn't change in the next couple of months then I doubt my family member will end up bothering.

I imagine the transfers will be staggered to avoid massive congestion, and that the highest population servers will be the first to be offered transfers away to lower pop ones. This is pure speculation based on watching the way other games have handled transfers over the years in similar situations though. My only concern is that they may forbid Legacy players to transfer to non-Legacy servers at least for a couple of months in order to minimize their impact on the economies. There's already a gil-cap for transfers I believe.
