Error 2002 - Official 'Fix' Does not apply.

Can we get some help on the PS3 everything was fine then I fell asleep woke up and now the start button is greyed out and I get error 2002 please help

the run as administrator did not work for me, i still get the error

I reset my system, it fixed the greyed out start button (presumably or it was sheer coincidence) but not I can't see the NA/EU server list lol

sane for me, either 'start' is greyed out or can't connect my character or the world is full using the same pc as always, nothing changed technically. Not going to sub if this issue continues will probably go back to LotRo.

PS3, EST, MIDGARDSORMR. Had the 1017 last night so i figured, 'well its friday night everyone is on ill just wait till tomorrow morning to get in.' low and behold this morning I get the error 2002! so im like 'what the hell' restart the game. this time no error message, but i get the "unable to update NA/EU server list" or something like that.

i see from this forum, that it is not just me, but does anyone have any idea, why it happened, what caused it or how long it will last.

My first guess is that they are working on updating the servers or something. maybe updating the maximum number of players foe each world. it just bugs me that JP servers don't seam to have any problems. and there is never any official announcements till its already been fixed and everyone is comfortable numb.. heh.. really upsetting!!

but anyway, anyone have any thoughts and not just complaints. lets get organized people!! lol.

Yeah I can't log in either. I feel like FFXIV always has and always will have these problems. It's way annoying. this seriously needs to be fixed. I mean isn't that one of the reasons they remade the game anyway so we don't have these problems?

I was getting the same issue about an hour ago. So I played on the JP servers for a bit. I just rebooted my game to try again and I got into the NA server. Since its the weekend I'm sure there is a high volume of people trying to log in at the same time so there are issues with the 2002 error. Unfortunately I think it may be luck of the draw at this point.

Yup, in the middle of a guildleve; 90000'd out. Now, solid error 2002 and greyed out start button. Lobby server encountered an error.

/edit Definitely not my network/port list/etc, as my wife is still playing. I was playing fine for over 40 minutes today before I was kicked.
