I looked on the locked thread about this error. The fix does not work for me, it is not on my end. So I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue. Submitted a ticket, but wondering if anyone else knows a way to fix it. Thank you.

Yeah I have never gotten this error till today. Very odd![]()
Same here.
Booted off the server 7 hours ago, then my character was locked out from being allowed into its server. Finally get past that error to get error 2002.
Yea my guess is the lobby servers are being hammered atm. Hopefully it will clear up soon.

I am as well, started my own post about it. Know it's not on my end since my network or computer haven't changed since the last time I connected. Probably the lobby servers due to the NA/EU list issue.

It appears that the solution below is a coincidence. I am sorry.
Problem (Started 2013-08-31)
After the log in, I see the usual main menu:
Star
Opening Movie
.
.
Start button is not lighting up.
Observation
When I click the icon of the launcher in Windows, it no longer asks about program permissions.
Solution
Right-click on the icon of the client launcher > Run as Administrator
This will allow you to the next step (Start button will light up and can be pressed), but then... you may encounter other problems not related to Error 2002...

I just started getting this error this morning. Can't even try to get into my server because the start button just stays faded out until a few seconds later, when I'm slapped with error 2002. Over. And over.
Either it's a total coincidence, or this just worked, which is really strange, because to the best of my knowledge the client did not patch when I booted it this morning, so nothing about the program behavior should have changed. I did not have to do this before. I'm more inclined to believe it was a coincidence, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Can't load the na/eu group, which means I can't play my main, but I guess I can at least keep trying to load it, or mess around on my jp char.

Yepp same here
Oddly that worked for me too. It's strange because I had my shortcut properties set to "Run as administrator" already, but was not working before I manually selected it.
It may just be coincidence.
