If I'm not playing, I'm not logged in. It seems to me to be the right thing to do. So that's how I roll.

Now because no one will not log off no one else will get to play until at least Thursday now because its impossible to get on. Get the hell off the server so others can play too. We all paid money, if I was a GM I would ban all of you
Because it doesn't solve anything. It's not like as soon as one person logs off, another person logs on, and it's not like there are thousands of people sitting AFK for 12+ hours. Most people can't leave their computers/PS3s running that long. They can kick maybe a handful of AFK people off, but then only a handful of people can then take their place. You still have thousands of people spamming the login server. It doesn't even make a dent, yet you all (not you specifically) are treating it like it would solve the 1017 problem.
Ridiculous.
Exactly this, I am on gmt on an NA server so I tend to get on when the Americans are asleep, but I always log off when i'm done, it's just unfair on everyone else to hog the space.
I think you're confused about the word "altruism". Just cause it makes you "feel good" doesn't stop it from being altruistic.
You're not logging out because you're selfish. Simple as that. Ironically your post proves her point.
Of course you have a lack of "community". Again, you don't really understand the word or you'd understand her point. What you have is a gang/thug mentality.
I had no problems getting on. My turbo controller lets me attempt to log in automatically (just by taping the button and setting the interval for 0.5 seconds). So I just do whatever for about half an hour, watch some Breaking Bad or Big Bang Theory, and I'm logged on with no effort.

Are you not being selfish by demanding that he log out. He wants to play just as much as you do, the only difference is he actually got on and doesnt plan on sitting in the log in screen forever and ever. Grow up and realize this is how the real world is. You look after yourself and your friends and forget everyone else cause they arent important. I wouldnt screw myself over just to help some random stranger and im certainly not gonna log off just to let someone i dont even know on the server instead of me.I think you're confused about the word "altruism". People, stop complaining... it's not healthy that you complain 24/7... I believe these rage and blaming posts affect the community more than what the AFK people harm it. One thing you have to understand is that afkers will remain afk and will not change. Stop getting on the matter over and over again, posts in the forums will not make people leave the game. I'd suggest just keep trying to log in.
P.S.: Not because you log out means you're a good person... just saying. Because then, when you log out, someone else will get in and then when you get free time to play what would happen? You would join the 1017 team for 30 mins - 10+ hours, I don't think anyone would like to pass through that.
Lucky enough every time I get off I can login between the first 30 minutes, could be my time zone.
Doesn't matter how long I get the error for, I still log out every time. Like others have said, it's only right. I want to give someone else the chance to play. I'll be ok if I have to wait until next week to play a darn video game. Goodness gracious, people.
I wonder if the reason SE is not implementing auto AFK kick has to do with certain statistics, such as number of concurrent players. SE recently announced a record-breaking number of concurrent players. This shines a good light on the game given all the positive press surrounding the story. But what if the reason for all of these players "playing" at the same time is simply the fact that people are not logging out....ever... so there is no player rotation or expected population fluctuations throughout the day/week/month?
