Charged twice by digital river?

So I preordered on the 12 of August and was charged $54 (I'm Canadian). Fine okay. Everything is okay. The money is withdrawn from my account and I go on my day. Tonight I notice my balance is a bit low. Low and behold, I was charged another $53 (diff exchange rates) by digital river.

Anyone else have this issue? Their support is crap and I cannot get through to them (waiting over 6 hours on phone). I know I didn't buy another copy, so I'd really like my money back ....

I had the same issue and this is what they sent me...


A pre-authorization is a temporary hold to verify that funds are
available when you place an order. Pre-authorizations are typically
removed from your credit card transaction history when the full charge
processes and funds are withdrawn. However, in some cases, this process
can take up to 2 business days. Rest assured, you will only be charged
once for your purchase.

Please note that debit cards may display both the pre-authorization and
the completed payment as full charges for up to 5 to 7 business days
from the date of purchase. If you need assistance removing a
pre-authorization from your debit card transaction history, please
contact your bank or financial institution. We are not able to assist
with this action at the Square Enix online store.

My Mastercard company thought it was all suspicious enough that they contacted me to ask if it was fraudulent activity on my card!

I lost 29.99US twice for 1 standard PC download, emailed them and no answer.
I think this game is cursed, error everywhere.

I've been charged for the 1 standard digital download I preordered the day before release for my fiance, but we originally pre-ordered 2 digital CE's, one which we cancelled, and yet they sent codes for both, and as far as I can find, have not even charged for it either yet. I've checked both credit cards back until July, and nothing.

I was originally billed the day I submitted the two orders. One for the collector's edition pre-order for myself and another for the standard edition pre-order for my partner. Now, however, I have been charged AGAIN with the original charge no longer showing up on my statement even though that money is also still missing. Any idea if the original charge will be refunded and if so, when?

I was originally charged the day I bought the game on the 8th, but then the charge magically disappeared. I had worried but decided to wait and then yesterday it showed back up again. I believe it was a preauth the first time and this time was charged when the grace period ended for physical pre-orders to get to their customers and then had extra time to register their codes.

or so I am hoping that is what it was for you all..
