[PS3] About Main Menu

i play on the PlayStation 3. and when i press Start and it opens Main Menu there are some questions regarding this.

first i know what the one number means. it is my Gil. but right next to Gil there is another number.

and below my Gil and the other number. is something called Toggle Modes. it says press L1+L3. but it does nothing what so ever. now i may not be seeing this correctly and it may be referring to L1+R3 for Mouse/Game-pad Mode. it's just that no matter how close or how far i am from the TV it still looks like an L.

so the questions...



what does that second set of digits to the right of the Gil represent?


and clarification on the Toggle Modes... does L1+L3 do anything at all? or is it really showing L1+R3?

Those boxes represent your inventory. The number is for how many slots on each page are taken up.

does anyone by chance know anything about the L1+L3 thing? i am quite positive when i press Start to open the Main Menu it shows an indicator for L1+L3 to do something called, 'Toggle Modes'. when i press L1+R3 for mouse mode there is an indicator for L1+R3 to 'Exit'. and the indicator in Main Menu is larger. and looks nothing like an R but looks like an L. maybe SE just placed the wrong indicator?

i dunno. but it is still rather curious. :/

The only toggle modes that i am aware of are:
1. The Virtual Mouse toggle which you have already described.
2. The Targeting Toggles.
Both use L1 but not L3...I will have to look at mine and see if I see that but as far as I know L1 + L3 does not do anything.

It says L1 + R with an arrow pointing down at it indicating that you press down on the right stick. Basically they should of just put R3. And this puts you into mouse mode. You press L1 and R3 again to exit.

when you open Main Menu by pressing Start. the indicator is clearly showing an L. and again if you press L1+R3 you clearly see the Exit indicator and that is shows an R. there is a distinct difference in this Exit indicator while in Mouse Mode then the indicator in Main Menu. there is no mistake the indicator in the Main Menu indicates to press L1+L3. the question is why? is it really supposed to do something? an UN-added feature? or just a clerical error on Square Enix's behalf?
