I was a completionist and finished almost all side quests leveling my first class. But with the changes like low level roulette and such I feel like side quests wouldn't really be faster than doing fates/dungeons. I guess they are more distracting of the leveling process but they aren't faster.

I've found doing a combination of Dungeon Roulette, Hunting Logs, and Leves to be most effective. I've never had much time for FATES, and only do them if they're near me and I find it convenient to stop and participate.
And if at any point that gets too monotonous, I'll swap to BTN, gather and make some gil for an hour or so, then swap back and keep right back at it.

Do people really expect to level everything quick and easy? :/ Is it such a bother to do fates, do some guildleves, hunting logs, guildhests, challenge log, fetch quests you may have missed the first time, and dungeons? Where has this generation gone, in terms of MMO grinding and enjoying a challenge?

has any one noticed how old this thread is??? it was brought back from 2013........

It's the future now. We have better ways to grind than the same old fates. We have hoverboards.
I didn't notice. I just saw this in the new posts and thought I'd leave my two cents.>.> I want my two cents back! I have bills to pay.![]()

I found myself leveling way faster doing fate, guildleves, dungeons far faster then I eve did doing quests. To me the quests were more for lore and story telling then efficient leveling even most of the items I got from them were meh.
