How come nobody has mentioned the Armoury Bonus?

You get bonus exp. The larger the discrepancy between your highest (50) class and your current class, the larger the exp bonus is.

Jump in on those FATEs. You'll want the company seals anyways, I'm sure.

(This is also one reason I'm doing Cnj first. It's the least fun class to play solo, imo.)

It is disappointing seeing 1.0 players saying "it isn't as bad as when I did it"....

Just because it was really bad back then and it is better than that now, doesn't make it actually good. This game needs players, that is why they made 2.0, if it wants to keep them, it will have to consider issues like these.

EDIT: To be clear, I'd like SE to do these things,

- Armory Bonus applied to FATE, Levequest rewards
- FATEs to scale with number of players in area or spawn more frequently
- Make it possible to do Grand Company levequests in a group, like you can with normal levequests

They've aleready stated that they will continue adding more sidequests with time. That being said, you don't have to be constantly doing FATEs. What I recommend would be Queuing on the last dungeon you can enter for your level using the job you want to level. Once you've done that, you can craft or gather using another job, you can camp FATEs, you can do levequests, you can complete your hunting log.

This is an MMORPG. The basics of an MMORPG is that it's made to play with others. The team has made it possible to level a job to 50 completely solo, but it is not what an MMORPG is aiming at. The goal is to play with other people. The main way to make exp in a group is by running dungeons. Following dungeons closely are FATEs. Post 35 you will be doing FATE parties more than dungeons because dungeons get harder and finding parties that complete them swiftly without death using the Duty Finder may prove difficult (think Stone Vigil).

You have repetable quests, they'Re called Levequests. they give less exp than normal quests, because they're repeatable. I think it is good, because if they were as good exp-wise, we would see no parties, everyone would just be soloing all the time, and it would be a very boring game. I'm really glad myself that you cannot solo more than 1 class to 50.

I can't remember, but it might be tied to your class quest.

I think it will unlock at level 30.

I hgave a stupid amount of quests left now. Stopped doing them around level 25 and mostly been dungeoning or fating. This is of course between work and college so my progress isn't as fast as everyones. Might do all the quests on the 2nd job! Eventually....needa hit 50 first.

Laugh, I did my entire Bachelor like that playing MMOs.

Yeah I dont understand this. Admittedly, my highest character is only 23, but I havent touched a normal quest in quite a few levels. All I have done is my story quest and class quests/hunting logs. I do Fates when I see them and I do grand company leve's when I feel like it. Even before that I had more quests than I knew what to do with JUST in the area that was in, without ever having gone over to the other leveling area's. Talking to friends, that are much higher than me, they have just done their story quest and what I mentioned above so they have tons of quests for their next jobs. You dont need to knock out every single solitary quest while leveling your first job, matter fact it would probably slow you down, being as I feel ( my personal opinion ) all the other things mentioned give more xp anyway. Oh, Ive also done dungeons, forgot to mention that.
