I suppose it's too late to ask for the mini-games back? My main gripe is gathering is so BORING... aside from all the other things brought up. At least it used to be somewhat entertaining.

lol , the problem is the "other mmo" spoiled you into thinking you can do everything in a day and new shinies will come out tomorrow.
there is no such thing as a grind.
go pick up ffxi and cap a craft real quick. lemme know how that goes
Got bored with gathering and crafting so I continued leveling lol, might do it again later.
I got my Botany up to almost 24 now...and I'm falling asleep. I'm only gathering while waiting for Duty Finder to pop and even then I 'm starting to just AFK till the Duty Finder pop.
For the amount of time you put into this and the total absence of skill, intellect, creativity, or interaction for that matter required to level this craft it is rather mind-boggling. And please don't compare this to RL jobs for the "don't be entitled and work for it" argument, if your job has "work" that is as brain-dead as this then I highly suggest to brush up on your education and find a career that isn't so bottom tier and dead end.
If u dont like the crafting -> dont do it.
And btw...im interested who would serve ur upper class arse if nobody would do brain-dead works.
Greetz,
Mörser out
I can completely grind through a level as my weaver. With some items giving good exp for a handful of levels on top of stocking my retainer... there really is no need to resort to leves outside the nice little bonus in exp gain.
However, botany is... um... painfully slow. In 30+, I really do rely on leves to make the leveling bearable. Part of the problem is that the activity is pretty monotonous - you're just running from node to node, typically running circles. If there was a bit of variety to the activity, that would help.
Other random thoughts:
* Increasing GP regen rates - more GP means more HQing or the ability to consistently gather higher level resources
* Giving us an exp boosting ability
* Alternative to the above, for the ability that increases yield, have it double exp as well
* Company neutral supply missions - this gives us an additional activity and source of exp
* Simply increase exp rates...
I've not been mining for long and already find it a tad tedious, botany wasn't much better...if I could make one change it would be to remove the whole "there are only 3 nodes in this area" crap... I can honestly say I would enjoy it a whole lot more if I was traveling across the ENTIRE map going from node to node dodging monsters and scouting out areas with little pockets of goodies rather than 3 in the exact same place over and over and over... Hell I would even prefer it if nodes spawned all over and were SHARED them (assuming SE fix the current hack/bot issues) I honestly can't see myself getting MIN/BOT to 50 in its current state and I would consider myself a patient person, hats off to those of you that have already hit cap!
I'm all for more nodes...
Ok, same as before, I can see how that would make it more challenging at least, the movement debuff from Stealth at high levels would suck but it's at least something...
Ok, you lost me. Why in the world would you want to bring back node competition? For all the grief and aggravation that this caused why would you ever want this back? I take it all back. Give me my 4 node static rotation. I promise I'll be good, just never EVER make me go back to node competition.
Considering how incredibly mediocre crafting is, gathering should probably be easier to level than it is. I'm almost level 40 mining now and I can only stand 30 minutes of mining before I want to scratch my eyes out.
