    I've been leveling weaver and botanist together, trying to keep them about the same. My impression is that botany has been far more grindy than weaving.

    Doing a level 25 crafting leve and hqing it resulted in somewhere between 40% - 50% of a level at levels 28 and 29. This was a single item craft that required fairly little resources to craft. It was also fairly easy to HQ because it required two items that were for the previous tier of items. Granted, this leve was picked up in Ul'Dah and delivered in Quarrymill, but travel was fairly trivial once Quarrymill was favored.

    My other impression is that I could comfortably level just grind crafting and using leves as nice bursts of exp.

    However, with botany, levels 25-31 would have felt nearly impossible without leves. Granted, since hitting 31, I've noticed that grind gathering is making for a somewhat better pace than it ever was during the 25-31 level range.

    This XP is insane... It took me about 6 months to level fishing to 50 in 1.0 LOL... damn leve limit! Before they let you stack leve's up to 99.. You use to lose them if you didn't use them

    I personally mine what I need for GSM ranks and then use all my disco XP / quest turn-ins for MIN xp lol.

    I'd rather use FATE for DoW/M xp as well as behest and all that stuff that there is zero options.

    As long as u have your DoL at the right lv, you can reap all your mission rewards as MIN

    Its a tip I happily pass along. Once I've cleared Eorzea of quests I dare think I will not try Botany .... lol.

    So if any kind person on Ultima would share those mats, I can trade ^.^

    If you would start with full GP bar like CP in DoH that would fix it at least partially.

    Yeah, I almost wonder if this is an oversight. Or maybe they are just so paranoid about their inability to stop botters, they just figure make all of mining worthless. Im definitely looking for some kind of motivation to keep this miner progressing.

    What I want to know is why doesn't my miner benefit from the experience boost of having my primary class higher? My THM is at 32, MIN is at 25 but I don't get the extra +50% exp. DoL are supposed to be classes, aren't they?

    My only beef with this grindy leveling is that it completely destroys the market for materials. I don't even know why I bother to mine anymore. I gathered about 16 stacks of mythril ore leveling from 31 to 36. So did everybody else on my server. Which results in prices of about 20gil or 140 for HQ. Some items are even worse off and sell for 2gil.

    At this point mining is completely worthless other than to supplement your own craft but you could do that just as cheaply from the market with the amount of repair costs you have if you update your gear regularly.

    I already feel like giving up at level 18. Mining is making me hate my crafting profession and I was rather enjoying leveling it.

    My hat goes off to people who reach 50 with a land job.

    The only real problem with Mining / Botany is that your GP comes back SO SLOWLY. 1 GP per second? That makes Leaf Turn a what, 5 minute cooldown to use? What the hell?

    If DoH took so long to regenerate CP it would be a ridiculously boring slog as well.

    The big difference is that mining is not active - Run between 4 nodes and mash your mining button 4 times. You might use skills on one of those 4 nodes every 2 passes. Hoorah!

    If your GP reset every node, or hell if your GP just regenerated at a much faster rate you could actually think about what to use on each node. Instead it's just "mash A 4 times in a row and move on" 90% of the time.

    I personally much preferred the mining minigame from 1.0 to this mindless slog.

    Also this problem makes it ridiculously easy to Bot mining. I hope they look into this.
