Is anyone noticing higher experience on gathering classes? My miner is only level 14 right now so maybe it's too low to notice the difference and my BOT is 50 so I don't get experience so it's hard to tell.

My Botanist is 22. Can't say I noticed a difference at all really. Maybe just a few extra points of XP, but it is still pitifully low. I think base was 246, and went up to 291 on 4 successful hits on normal. (can't say exact figures, but it was around that) And I think about 700 for a single HQ hit. Never managed to get more than a single, so not sure on the chain HQ rate.

At that level, just a few leves an maybe 10-15 minutes gets you a level up. Combine that with food and exp scroll and you can halve that time. It was too easy. It still is too easy. It's sad that gathering is the hardest thing to level up and you can still do it in under a week.

You should notice it if you do fieldcraft levequests those seem like a 200% buff per turn in. But your right in that until you get higher in level you'll not notice as you need to little experience per level in comparison to the upper levels, hell even in the mid low 20s it started to feel like a huge grind without leve's.

The point of gathering professions is the grind, it's a deterrent to stop everyone from raising them. If everyone raises both gathering professions then people like me who rely on mining for my income will no longer make any income alone. After this hotfix I am now regretting leveling mining, I might just leave it at 48 since it's becoming more and more of a waste of time.

Has anyone even been following the prices of darksteel and gold ore? I predict they'll be at 100 and 50 gil each respectively. HQ will most likely drop to 200 and 300-400 as well... I have absolutely no clue as to the reasoning behind raising the xp for mining and botany, I was getting 1 mining level per 30 mins using leves. You don't have any leves? So save them up like I did and level using that method, you don't need mining at 50 yesterday.

This. Making it faster to level gathering jobs is going to hurt the economy. Gathering = work. WORK for your gil!

After going back and reading the patch I found out that the higher exp doesn't even begin until level 16. Perhaps I should read the patch notes in the future before I open my mouth. XD

I understand where you're coming from but to make money in a MMO is the same as making money in the real world you have to know how to navigate the market. Even if everyone started the game with level 50 miners it would still require the same amount of work to gather the materials. Honestly, in terms of gathering the best most reliable money is always going to be in crystals because their needed by every crafter for every craft they do. The other thing is you have to know how much the market can handle if you go out and havest 12 stacks of darksteel ore thinking you're gonna make a killing you're wrong. You're just going to flood the market and drive the price down.

everyone complains at the exp that miner and bot get. there is a dramatic difference in the amount of exp gotten from 10. too 2.0 my piece of advice quit whining and play the game it does not take half as long to lvl from 1.0 to 2.0

The exp boost was really nice. I was 31 when the boost fix hit and leveled to 33 harvesting Flax. Then I decided to try my first gathering leve. I never use my leves so I had a full 100. It took one day and 80 leves but I got from 33 to 50 in about 7hrs.

I had just under, probably 980ish, flax when done. I was able to level from 31 all the way to 41 by doing nothing but making linen thread. I am going to start making linen fabric which I am assuming will take me to at least 46 (I use a macro to increase quality as much as possible instead of just using quick synth and was getting about 3,400-4k exp per thread). It just seems ever so slightly out of balance still if I could manage to do that. ><
