    Since Amazon preorders were cancelled...

    can I buy a hard copy and just use that code without having to re-install the game? My laptop cannot read discs. I don't want to waste the money if i can't do it.

    It worked for my wife on the PS3 version, she had early access so we had the game up to date. Today it asked us to input the registration code and it's working for her... I wish I could create a character on her server, it would be nice SE.

    Well yeah. If you have the game installed already all you have to do is apply the code on your account and you're set to go; you don't have a 'CD key'.

    I can't guarantee that will work, but I'm considering doing the same thing myself. Bought the game a week ago but it only shipped this morning - expected to arrive on the 5th. Of course there's copies in shops in town, presumably with codes in them.

    Just be sure to enter the official registration code on the correct service account in Mogstation! 2 week processing time, characters lost on one account, 200 page thread, etc etc.

    Exactly what I did, bought a hard copy and just used the code because I had the client installed from EA. Worked like a charm.
