Hello,

The Perception stat description says "affects the rate at which high-quality items are gathered", but it seems you only need a certain amount for the nodes to recognize you as eligible for HQ then it's a fixed 15%, no matter how high your perception is.

Also for nodes conditions for stone whisperer, but otherwise than that it seems pretty pointless to pump perception to its fullest because you only need a certain amount, while making a huge investment in a disciple of the hand class can result in much easier HQ results.

Or is there something later on that makes HQ chance really increase according to my perception? I'm currently level 20.

When you are harvesting a node, the perception value is the minimum value to get any chance of HQ. It starts at 1% chance, and grows to a max of 15% base when you're a certain value above the listed perception. If you were to reduce your equipped perception to closer to the listed value, you'd see the chance change.

Generally your better off stacking GP after you get 320 perception as hitting 600GP will allow you to use your best HQ% abillity on the nodes.

I am currently sitting at 306 perception and still have a 0% chance at unspoiled to gather hq. 320 will bring this up to 10%?

320 will bring you HQ rate up to 1%. not 10.
