    Please be caution about double billing from DigitalRiver

    For those who bought FFXIV from SQEX e-store please be caution and look at your credit card transaction all the time, me and a lot of my friend got the 2nd billing from DigitalRiver without any notice and could not contact DigitalRiver or SQEX regarding this issue. For now please always check your credit card.

    Silly question I know, but are you 100% sure that first "charge" actually went through, and it wasn't just a temporary hold that was released later, with the real charge coming when they shipped the item?

    I can confirm this. My boyfriend and I had preordered two digital CE version of the game back in July, and upon purchase we were charged (checked the bank statement to confirm this). Today a statement came up saying we had been billed again, lo and behold we were short 100$. We have sent in a ticket and if it is not resolved in a week, we will be contacting the bank to get the money back. This is not SE's fault, it is Digital River's. It is SE's fault for choosing such a shitty 3rd party company to do business with though, people have had nothing but problems with them for years.

    Digital River is a joke. I had a lot of issues with them from an anti virus that was through them. Hopefully you can get your double payment refunded and taken care of quickly. I try to avoid them now as they seem to have some bad business practices. Sad to hear SE went with them for the digital downloads.

    I can NOT confirm that.
    When you bought the game digitally that day they didn't charge you. I did the same and looked it up and they only charged me a couple of days ago and not months ago when i purchased it.

    I looked at my banking statements, they double billed me. The money was taken out of my account the first time (upon purchase) and a second time when they sent it. I gave them a ticket and got a reply:

    Dear Customer,

    Due to the overwhelming volume in regards to the upcoming launch of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, we have been regretfully unable to respond to your request within the expected 48 hours. Because of this, your ticket has been closed in order to prioritize time-sensitive issues being reported during Early Access. If you have not yet found a self-resolution for your issue, we ask that you create another ticket after searching our Knowledge Base. Please also select the best category and sub-category pertaining to your issue for accurate delivery of your ticket.

    We sincerely apologize this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

    i can confirm Digital River is a crap company not only do they not know how to handle charging accounts they are also extremely poor record keepers when i first got the game i played for a few months before i had to reformat this was a digital download when i went to download again even with a email and a bank statement i couldn't get these people to give me access to a copy i finely had to go track down a disk from a friend...

    I can confirm that I have also been double billed by Digital River. Bought collector's edition for myself and regular for my partner and on the 30th they charged us again without refunding the original amount. Sent a ticket into SE and have not heard anything back from them.

    I also purchased with debit , however uinstead of being initially charged what they did was hold my funds for a few days to verify I had an ccount that could pay and then funds were released. Once game was shipped the actual charge took place. This is how digital river was supposed to conduct it, is everyone who experiencing this absolutely sure they did not get the funds returned from initial pre-order charge? It held my 100 for CE for about a week before releasing it back into account, maybe you spent it and not realize.. or digital river really did screw up but I don't see how it would with the way thier process goes, but maybe it did.
