I'm sure this has been beaten into the ground, but you do realize that if you could summon the actual Primals that they would mind control everyone and wreak havoc, right? The Primals can't be commanded. The pet models are fine for the purposes of the story, and since this is a story driven MMO, it is totally fine and they will most likely not change a single thing.

With due respect, I'd get used to it. =\
