I can only talk about my server but lets be honest here, if they really cracked down on bots there would be at least 25% of the server missing and i'm guessing more like 40-45%. Just walking around Ul'Dah you see ppl who have been crafting non-stop all day and there is no way they have just been mindlessly pressing buttons for 12 straight hours. SE is in no position to lose that much of their player base. The only way to prevent that is to change up the crafting system so it can't be botted or its not worth using bots. But for right now, and far into the future, there is no way SE will bans these players.

And when that player base starts affecting the ability of new players to join and enter the game in the job that they want...?

Mind you, botters aren't even paying for the game yet, so their presence is nothing but detrimental to the game and SE at this moment. Botters should be removed, It is in SE's rights and interest to remove them, and the community will suffer if they are left alone. The very hint that botting is tolerated will only make botting- and the illegal activities that go with it- more pervasive.

Thanks for the lesson but most of us realize what botting does to a game. I didn't say its a good thing or that I like it. What I am saying is that people are not being realistic to think SE is going to crack down on such a large percentage of their player base so early.

Yes, botting gets us logs to make lumber for carpentry, weve already covered that

How are they part of the player base when they are not playing properly, if they are actual people at all? Do we have Carte Blache to Violate the Terms of Service until the Battle System gets updated?

What is realistic about giving such a false crowd more respect than the actual players? How long before that large percentage becomes untouchable like FFXI Windower?

If SE kicked the botters it would have at least 25% less paying customers, probably more like 40-45%. SE is a buisness and as much as you would them to be on your side, they are for profit. Time will tell but I can pretty much garuntee you there will be no boting crackdown anytime soon.

Fail. You wouldn't even be playing this game if your argument held any water. It would have been cancelled or sold. They don't need you or your sympathetics to run anything, and in fact it's a better product that's more attractive to more players without them.
