The bot i found that SE wont do anything about

There are other threads that are similar to this and it's interesting how many people seem to be okay with it. They usually say something along the lines of the accused character not harming anyone and it's nothing to concern yourself with. As others have mentioned, there's a decent amount of players that use third-party tools to their unfair advantage and I would imagine that at some point, perhaps once there's a healthier player population, that the STF will take further action. For now, I'd keep reporting characters and let SE do the rest.

I can give you one good reason your typical internet forum poster would be okay with it.

No surprise that a town crafter would condone that bot. It's producing ores and keeping prices low. It's the miners who are like **** that.

See? It's relatively hopeless if the players don't even understand they're being played like pawns. You will never be able to buy relevant gear with gil, because the prices of any rare sellable will be dictated by those who have been cheating for a half year.

You will end up paying an arm and a leg, and hundreds or thousands of more life hours to get what you want in the game becaues you don't understand how much those bots *will* make you pay eventually.

Those bots will continue to drive the prices to the point where your gil isn't even going back into the community. This affects farmer and crafter alike. It won't be long before you are undercut at the markets, to the point where many recepies won't even be worth making.

But I take it that you only care for yourself, am I right? I got mine, screw the rest! Well, once real money starts getting involved those cheap mats will become cheap armor, cheap items, all until yu get to the stuff you really need, that will be an arm and a leg.

And where will you get this? NM taken by the bots? Guildleves cheated by lalaclones? Farming driven to dirt poor prices? Because I don't see you enjoying your game with anyone but those getting a paycheck for your shortsightedness, I'm sure they don't enjoy the game, just the money and time they'll con from you and SE.

Weird, I have all the gear I need atm and barely paid anything for it, because I have a LS with all the crafts at 50 that will make me anything i need, I also have millions that is pure useless.

You are thinking about it in the wrong way imo.

Botters get up fast with little work, so they buy all your mats to feed their needs, then you have lots of people with high level crafts which make it easier to repair your stuff, then when you get good gear of a NM you can sell it at an extreme price as everyone has bunch of gil as its so easy to obtain (even if u dont bot)

Like look at tricorne, people spent like 4-5m and imo its not worth that much, but it takes like 1-2 days to get 4-5m even if you dont bot lol.

it just seems to me that you are a lil jealous XD thats all i see imo.

Theres been bots since day 1 and it hasnt effected me at all

Well considering the STF does not exist according to yoshi P, and GM's can't do anything to said bots cept stare at them and go "yup thats a bot all right" you won't be seeing them go away any time soon.

There are HUNDREDS (if not comprising near 50% of a servers population by now) per server crafting fishing mining botany lvling etc.

Bots ignore terrain (can claim through walls, run over cliffs, go through the ceiling/floor). Seen some do POS (teleport) around, seen speed hacking (flying through the air) travel.

SE will do nothing to them reporting them multiple times, or even having an entire LS of 10+ reporting 1 person, they will still be there 1 week.. 1 month later.



I like how SE took down Windower website with a cease and desist order because it was "harmful" to the game (somehow, although many loved it because it removed the FFXIV border)) but they don't touch the obvious ffxiv bot sites (for several months now) you can easily find typing 2 simple words into google.

We should be seeing a few R50/50/50/50/50/50 people within the next month at the rate botting has become "the thing to do" for lvling these days as its not discouraged in any way or form.

I agree. We should do what we can in these early days of the game to stop bots from wrecking it for the rest of us.

Why should WE pay the price for ppl who simply cannot be bothered to play the game.

Look at the current considered endgame NM's, do you see bots doing them? Are they hard to get to or fight? Nope they're always up and so easy to get, theres no claim wars lol. And the rest of the game will follow suit because SE clearly dont want another XI so everythings just going to be cake.

And then when instanced stuff comes you wont have to compete with claim bots (which according to SE's letter thats the direction they're going). Then you get a real kool pimp piece of gear and want to make a lot of gil on it but oh no you cant because you banned all the bots who'd be willing to pay stupid amounts for it. So you have to let it go for something really low and lose out haha.

I'm fine with being against something due to it being against the TOS, but my reason is no other than that. They bought the game, its their money, its their playing style. Why should I have to care? I dont tell you how to play, nore do I care if you have 7 rank 50's (which btw already exists on a number of people even legits) and 100m gil, why does it matter to me that you have that? lol You'd be buying my shards and slowly giving all that gils to mez!

And like I've said before, You can make a couple million a day from rank 1 with shards if you really want and there isnt much gear thats really expensive now, if its not just plain useless (Dodore for example is not worth a penny considering its easy obtain rate lol)

And then you have SE making NM's pop every 2 mins and droppign rare/ex, thus useless to the rmt and even if someone botted these, the lag causes the claim system to be so fucked up a claimbot hardly works, I've camped against RMT in cassi for the bees which use claimbot-bots and i've spent a whole night outclaiming extremely easy.
