Is this maintenance legit?

So got the purple text in the chat log at about 20 till 9 est time saying "We are now starting emergency maintenance." With no prior warning as usual. Is this legit or? I didnt log out and it is now 9:13pm est. Anybody know what the deal is?

Don't log out, you won't be able to log back in, try to avoid zoning (I got D/C with 90000 error now can't get back on)

I was wondering the same thing myself. I logged out to make sure that my character would be okay and now I can guess that it was an emergency maintenance to the log in servers. My biggest gripe about this is provide a warning first, also provide clarification on if the server is coming down when you make the announcement... also make a news post on the forum/patcher/lodestone that says what the maintenance is for prior to to actually doing the maintenance. I understand that it is an emergency so time is of the essence but you should be able to communicate down between teams and have someone make a post somewhere about what is going on before or shortly thereafter the announcement please!

They got a new notice up in the launcher about them looking into difficulties with logins. Specifically states issues withNA/EU server list not loading.

Was posted within the last hour, but havent' seen it in the forums or on twitter yet.

New Lodestone news feed and such is fubar atm too--only thing I can view is topics.

Looks like it's gonna be ANOTHER bumpy night.

Are you kidding? They post a nebulous message causing people to log out- when its the login servers that are a problem???
