Background: Goblins have returned to the Civilized World after their Long Pilgrimage. But when they returned they found their vaults of Goblin Tokens was stolen from them and monsters who roam the land have been found to have a few when slain. No one knows who the mastermind was that raided the Goblins Vaults but the Goblins want them back. They hired up Mercenaries to retrieve their treasure back.
Ok, the mercenaries keep dieing. That was a Bad Idea... Really bad. But there sure are a lot of Adventurers running around, and they seems a bit more reliable then coin for hires. So the Goblins set up shop in the Cities of Ul'dah, Gridania, and Limsa Lominsa. Offering services they found no one else performed but were asked for constantly. Goblins will never spare a chance to monopolize and being opportunistic and great traders have devised a scheme to get their Tokens back without any harm coming to themselves.
For every monster that falls that brings Tokens back into the hands of the Goblins, the Gobs have declared they'll perform the following Services. But are willing to bring on more services as requested by the adventurers, as long as they keep bringing back their tokens.
1. Goblin Barber Shop
Finding it odd that no one seems to be able to cut and style hair, a few clever goblins started practicing cutting hair off the bodies of the mercenaries they hired to get their Tokens Back. After they were satisfied with their skills they started offering up these services to the many Adventurers to help get their manes into check.
A: Players can pay the Goblins in Gil to get their hair re-done to any style already present on their current Race. This would include any new hairstyles that become available to that race in the future through the character creator. They can also recolor choosing colors only available to that race.
B: Players can pay the Gobs in Tokens, and get access to new hair styles only the Goblins offer. They can also choose any hairstyle from any race from the Character Creator. Color is also a choice of all the possible colors from Character Creator and some that are only available from the Goblins.
2. Repairs and Mending
Goblins are renowned smiths and crafters and will assist players in Repairs. They might even help you out and make those old Subligaria better.
A: Players can pay the Goblins in Gil to get their equipment repaired up to 90%, there is a chance the Goblins will fail and the armor is returned without repairs. No Refunds though.
B: Players pay the Goblins in Tokens and the Goblins will work their metalurgical magics and repair an equipment item to BETTER then it was when it was new. Will always be returned with 110% Durability. For every point of Durability over 100% the equip operates 1% more effectively in damage, defense, and attack power and magic potency.
Items also have a chance to gain a Augmentation to their base stats. No negatives here, the Goblins go All Out when you pay with tokens. There is also a chance of the repairs going above 110% by chance. (If a Materia System does get implemented and it is similar enough to FF7's, then they can also have a chance to embed a Materia Slot into the equipment item. If There is an Empty Materia slot they will have a chance to place a random Materia into that slot.)
Items that are processed this way and receive a status of "Goblin" and can not be traded amongst other players, Goblins will also not use their magic on them again, but will Repair them back to 110%. Goblins will also not Buy these at the...
3. The Black Market Appraisers
The Black Market Appraisers are Goblins who are good at getting around pesky things like Rarity, they buy, counterfeit, and then resell old Equipment that most people would just throw out if its no longer useful as no one would pay gil for these items, most of them smell bad.
A. Using tokens to bribe the Goblin Appraisers you can hand over an equipment item that is Unique and Untradable. They will take their time and Appraise the item for its value to them. If they deem it valueless they will return it and tell you to buzz off, but they don't give the tokens back. If the item is deemed to be usable for their nefarious purposes they will pay you in Tokens. The amount offered will vary based on supply, demand, and many other variables. You can then chose to take the offer or not. They do not feel bad about handing over a few tokens for old equipment they are just going to fix it, repair it, and then stuff it in a bag for....
4. The Goblin Gambling Board
The Goblins have a Board with numbers, costs, and percentages all over the place. Most of it makes no sense to the average Adventurer. They just know that there is a chance that anything in the Bags could be better then the tokens they are paying for the bag itself. They will never know whats in the bag before they buy it. It might be nothing. It might be a new ring, or armor, or sword. Or it might be an old seasonal event item. it could be anything. The bag will sit in the players inventory till they chose to open it.
A. Players can pay for a Level 1 bag using Gil or Tokens. Level 1 Bags have a High Chance to have common food, potion, and equipment items inside. It might have spell on it that gives a bit of SP/XP to the player. None of it is particularly special but there is always a chance of something nice.
Level 1 Bags have nothing higher then Rank 25 Optimal gear.
B. Players with tokens can buy Bags level 1-5. The higher the level of the bag
The higher the optimal rank the equipment and items inside can be. The more SP/XP it can give for opening it. The chance that an item might come with a "Goblin Enchant" already on it. All equipment from Bags level 2-5 come with "Goblin" status meaning they will not be bought back by the Goblins. Even if they could use it they wont buy it.
Items that might come from Level 5 bags are limited to drops from NM's, but not exactly. All the items in Level 5 Bags are similar to the ones dropped from NM's but with slight changes made by the Goblins. It might look differently, give different stats, all will have a different name. They will also all come with a "Goblin" Status. These bags will have the highest Token Cost of all the items in the Goblin Shop. If you can't afford it you can always go into the...
5. Goblin Arena

- When the monster is felled they will drop a treasure chest. The person who paid for entrance is the only person who can open it, if they fell in the fight they will be resurrected when the fight is over and allowed to open the chest.
- The Chest will offer an Equipment item to the Arena Leader that is comparable to items dropped by NM's and Bosses of the monster just fought. Any player who bid tokens on winning the fight will also get an item out of the chest. The more tokens paid in the more quality and quantity of items the chest will hold for each participant. But only the first item out of the chest will be an "End Game NM Comparable Item."

6. Gob House
The Goblin's are Great Diggers, we've known that for a while, what no one knew was that they had dug tunnels and entire neighborhoods out under the Hamlets out in the world. When you visit a hamlet you can buy a piece of this Subterranean Real Estate from the Gobs and do with it as you see fit.
These Subterranean domiciles are well built and through Goblin Ingenuity and lots of Mirrors and technology stolen, rebuilt and reprocessed from Garlemald have bright sun like lights allowing you to rest in peace and comfort as if you were not already a half mile underground. In the Gob House you can plant plants (You'll have to pay the gobs for their Sun Lamps), arrange furniture, for a few extra tokens you can Expand how much room you have. You can even invite your friends and Link Shell mates back to your Gob house for Parties!
7. Gobleves
Thats right, The goblins have decided to start selling special Guildleves that only they have access too. These leves are dangerous encounters. Huge Dangerous beasts roam the countryside. Its up to the plucky adventurers to go defeat them.
These Special Leves have a high chance of spawning special NM's and always drop equipment as a prize for completion (to all participants) instead of marks or gil. The higher level the leve the more tokens needed to purchase one. These leves do not count against the current Leve restrictions.
