Yeah and the best part is if Square would ban just one of the accounts characters, they'd be locked from making a new character. lol Hooray character creation lock! They also can't purchase a new account key. Hooray locked sales! XD Now to get the GMs moving...well i mean pppl cussing out other ppl for afking in a city to avoid being locked out.. when really should be cussing about the 20+ botters huddled together sitting in one corner botting for 3 days straight lol and thats just one area that i saw today.. imagine other areas we dont see there could be 100+ on a server who knows 24'/7 its no wonder servers are clogged its not ;players afk thats the problem its ton of botters afk lvling and whisper spamming gold sites that if relieved would help the stress ont he servers greatly

lol never thought id see a positive from this server locking debacle, you deserve lollipops, and medals.

This wins, right here. Massive Win™.
Why would SE care about botters?? each of them is paying a monthly fee so why would they get rid of them? Clearly they don't reinvest the $ in upgraded servers. Absolutely terrible RE-launch.
True enough, but in the long run if you don't ban and get rid of the bots, you will loose more paying customers than the botters you didn't ban, so they actually cost you more monthly fees than you will ever make from them. I know I have left games due to them not taking action against botters, and if there is one person leaving due to this, then there is bound to be more, lots more.
For 3 reasons:
1/ There are more legit players out there than botters. However, as they see SE takes no actions against any botters. They will sooner or later leave the game because they don't want to pay to play with botters 24 hours over 7 days. SE loses more money.
2/ The game Economic crash. All these Gil Bot Seller and with those Botters grinding for item, sooner or later, the whole market will be manipulated by those who control the Bot. If it is free to play, I may think some people will keep playing because they lose nothing. But FF 14 is the type of Pay to Play, and people don't want to spend their money where it is not worth, they will leave eventually. Again SE will lose more money than they thought if no action was taken.
3/ Server Clogged up. It is happening and I don't know how many percentage in there that is Botter,Gil Bot Seller but I can be once for sure, if this keep happening during a long period of time, people will leave. SE loses even more money
On top of Money, they also lose their reputation for being incompetent and in the future, no one want to play any of their game again because they know SE is not as competent as it sounds.
So Yes, SE should be worry about these Botters.
Corse se will care about it .. its rather they act and whent hey act and how adeptly they act... i mean they have acted on other games so no reason they wont here but like i said its the when and how that concerns me
Considering how versatile the macros are in compared to games like Tera/SWTOR/Rift, I'd say botting is pretty easy.
Just as long as they don't do what they did too XI.
Where they nerfed all the fun ways to make a living. Leaving combat as the only functional persuit. Then mass banning anybody who still enjoyed spending all their time trying to fish / farm / craft rather than grinding the endless stream of blue crabs. Just because its the only way to be sure.
The punative anti-rmt measures in XI drove away more previously happy players than any other factor that remains in my memory.
I used to love the fishing mechanism so much I'd just spend 4 hours a day pulling out moat carp... Then suddenly you could only pull out half a dozen fish in a day before it would just not let you catch more. Not even enough to outlast a single cup of tea.
well im sure they can find a happy medium or a good detection system to get rid of the botters and the gold spam botters i mean there are already bots out for lvling/crafting/spamming/everything lol and when u combine pc/ps3 playing together seems only ppl who will not catch a weird eye will be the ps3 players
