Now this is not a thread complaining about the undelivered copies. I just want to know if my character will be safe until my game comes as I tried to log in to the lodestone and it says I have no registered characters.

"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit."
Bump* Could someone help me with this
"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit."
Same. I was stupid and ordered mine from Toys R Us and they're claiming it won't get to me before the 3rd which is crap. I've already called them about it but they claim theres nothing they can do![]()
I'm having the same issue. I checked Mogstation - my character still exists there, on an "inactive" account (like expected, as I am awaiting my physical copy). However, the Lodestone says I don't have any characters. My expectation is that it's a case of the error message not being as specific as it could. We don't have -active- service accounts with characters at this time, so Lodestone won't show them.
With the Producer's comments about extending the free play time, and the lacuna of our delivery times preventing play, and all the other issues going on, I think one could solve the other. Adding valid time to our Early Access licenses could snuff out the issues many people are having - and give SE time to adjust and merge the service accounts of the many many people who entered their codes incorrectly.
Small blessing that I didn't have my code yet - I might have entered it wrong myself.
When did the producer's make those comments?

The development and operations teams are working diligently to combat the login issues which many of our users are currently facing, and ask for your continued patience and understanding over the next several days as we move to solve these problems.
To thank all of you for bearing with us for so long, we will be looking into different ways to reward our loyal fans and customers, such as an extension of the free trial period. Details on the plans we have in the works will be announced shortly.
In conclusion, I would like to say that we have been overwhelmed with the positive response for A realm Reborn, which is why it doubly pains us to implement any sort of measure that may restrict people from joining us in Eorzea. We sincerely apologize for the unwanted stress these restrictions have caused, and thank you immensely for the understanding you have shown over the past week. The fixes are almost in place and we look forward to seeing all of you very, very soon.
Thank you.
I'd love if they done something about this today, or at least tell me my character is safe.

Your character will be fine, just inactive.
When you get a code you can apply it to the same account (be careful not to create a new account!) and carry on playing.
It's not in their interest to delete characters, they risk losing a potential monthly customer when for them it's trivial to store the tiny amount of data needed to make up your character(s).
Thanks for the info, I didn't think I'd every be so bothered by a video game and Amazon.

My and my brother's copies of the retail CE, which we preordered back in the end of May when the preorders were first made available, have been stuck in Atlanta for a week now.
SE is using some funky crap that involves multiple shippers handing off packages to each other in an effort to save on shipping costs. However, since we live in a small town, our shipments are being held until there's enough packages to justify shipping to the local Post Office for actual delivery. This could take another untold number of weeks since small towns just don't generate much package volume. We're looking at buying retail copies locally just to get back in until our CEs arrive, and then selling off the codes to recoup the extra costs - we run a gaming community and with it came a whole Free Company's worth of players, and now we have to manage the guild by remote control through our officers.
Time for opinion-slash-rant...
In the meantime, I'm locked out and so is my brother. Not that this matters to SE - SE's modus operandi regarding FFXIV - for both the original failure and ARR - has been a case of idiocy of the highest order at all levels of decision-making, so I can safely count on SE being completely useless in fixing this as well. Great game, and the CSRs actually try to help, but totally understaffed support (and closed for Labor Day, right after a major release? are you insane, SE? you should be running support 24/7 for at least the first 15 days!) and a utter failure to plan around the load. (Example: Why were there any world-full errors during early access? Why were there not at least enough worlds to accommodate all preorders? Who, apparently other than SE, presells a MMO and doesn't have the capacity to support at least the number of preordered copies sold?)
Last time around, FFXIV 1.0 was a failure of a game released under a cloud of failures by the company. This time around, it's far worse: the game's actually worth playing, and the company as a whole is still the epitome of failure. There is no reason or justification for the kinds of issues ARR is having - SE knew how many people preordered and under-prepared for the load, both in technical terms and in how they support their customers.
I don't know if Yoshida-san actually reads any of these comments, but I hope he sees this one: you and your dev team did the impossible and actually turned FFXIV around. ARR is a great game - now it needs a great company to back it. SE has proven with its decision-making, both the first time around and now, that it is not that great company. It could become that great company, but only if it starts making smarter decisions.
