    Demon Wall

Can anyone give tips for this boss? I understand the general strat but it seems incredibly annoying. I've had groups that just ignore the adds and focus on the boss, and that was really easy. They were all ranged dps though. As soon as there is a melee, it seems like that strat goes out the window.

The most annoying thing is having to move out of the red circles that paralyze you if you don't kill the adds in time. Seems very rng'ish. If the adds cast that spells and the boss starts to cast knockback you're basically screwed. You either dodge the paralyze and get knocked off the ledge, or eat the paralyze and be screwed for when you have to dps and dodge the purple.

I've never tried but can they bee slept? How fast should they be dying? It seems like the die quite slow in most of my groups. Very frustrating.

I was in a group that beat it today. We didn't ignore the adds, instead making them a priority. The pld grabbed them both and used hallowed ground, while our blm used the limit break, the brd used his aoe and whm spammed holy. All of that while dodging like normal. After the adds where down, it was a simple dps race. Hope that helps.

First, they can't be slept, they are immune (or just resist every single time by coincidence). The adds spawn after his 2nd Push Back. One add should definetely be down before the 3rd Pushback and the other one after the 3rd Pushback. If they survive longer, you prolly don't have enough DPS to get it down in time anyway, so you might be better of leaving and finding new people.

PS: Avoiding the stuff is just a pattern that you can follow easily. Inside Line, Outer Line, Inside Line, Outer Line, Push Back, same thing a second time, then adds spawn. After the fourth push back the wall needs to die, or the 5th Push Back is an instant wipe.

Especially you as a Tank should utilize your abilities for the add phase. Spirits Within the Gnat when it casts, it interrupts the AoE. Circle of Scorn to help out with DPS bla bla...
Use Shield Bash to Stun them for a few seconds etc. The fight really is all about keeping your head cool and stay calm and concentrate on evading shit. Of course you need to be able to do your damage, but if you can't do both, you won't get much further in endgame anyway.

u can interrupt the adds, if your healer get hit by their aoe its pretty much over.

Limit Break should finish one add off, or pretty much get it down to very few HP, if everyone after that still stands you should have no trouble of winning the fight.

Ok, is there a reliable way to charge up the limit bar in this fight? I swear it took my group three drawn out wipes just to charge up that one single unit of the bar.

Also, be careful for the repel - or pushback - that the wall use: if you aren't perfectly middle, it can push you out of border. Also, for the second pushback and so on, try to stay as much as possible under the demon's chin: less distance pushed, less stayin in the purple area.

As others said: is a matter of stay cool, don't lose focus, and concentrate only on your job. Don't mind the others. As a BRD, i see only 2 things when i do Demon Wall: Healer MP bar, Boss (and Adds) Hp bar. The pattern is memorized, and you must not care about the others hp or such things. Or you'll lose focus, and you'll start doing slower attacks.

    That said, good luck :3

Nope, you have to save the LB for this boss if you want to use it. Or wipe 3 times ^^

You guys can try to burn the wall down and offtank the adds if your dps is right, works for me. Or you can try to stun both AOE attacks from adds and single target focus on one of them, works aswell.

Yeah, we reached the point where we just ignore the Adds now and focus the Wall itself down. That requires some real DPS though. As a Healer you can chip in with your DoTs or other extra dmg skills in between healing. I do it on my SCH all the time. I start the fight with applying all my DoTs and after each Repel I apply them again, cause healing wise the whole fight is a joke. With a SCH in group as Healer you want him to use Selene as well, to support the groups spell/skill speed to fasten things up even more.

The biggest problem I find with this boss (and instance in general) is finding players who are competent enough to actually get out of the boss's attacks.

Not a difficult task, but quite beyond some people. Makes PUGing this instance a 'do at your own risk' sort of situation.
