Rolling restarts?

Why can't SE just do world wide server restarts every morning to get rid of all the AFK people clogging the servers? I am no computer wiz so if there is an issue with this then I am wrong, but it seems like a pretty simple fix to clearing out all the AFKers

The problem is that SE decided to group North America and Europe with the same set of servers, despite the differing time zones. So restarting in the middle of the night (PST) will boot people in Europe who started playing that morning.

Ahem, the problem is:
People have programmed automated processes to spam the login (I know a guy who did it, he manages to log in eventually) and some people probably have triggers on their processes so kicking them out with a server restart will trigger their process and they're going to spam the server with login requests again. Chances are their trigger will start spamming the login before you do, hence them logging in and not you.

What they(Square) should do is just change a little detail in their login process to prevent a simple macro from being able to spam the login

As much as this sucks it is a little bit of a good thing.. realise that if there are this many problems that the game is a much much bigger hit then they predicted. EU/NA servers are fine as a group.. just need to have created alot more servers for it. It will be fixed eventually untill then just keep clicking and clicking and hope u get on

which is fine, they are not afk and can log back in and the afk fuktards are gone.

I was just coming here to post this.

There should've been an AFK boot measure put in to begin with. But if they are so unwilling to do so (which they've stated that they are) at least do a rolling restart once a day. I don't care at what time. Timing is going to be an issue for this game no matter how they do it. But it needs to be done.

As for people with automated login processes, sure, there are people who can do it. But I highly doubt it is widespread.
