I just want something that looks "normal" not anorexic.

Also, I believe everyone knows by now that "gamers" are a fickle breed. We don't do what you would call "getting a life." We instead do things like creating spreadsheets about how to most efficiently do damage, how to do something in the shortest time possible, and how to min/max everything in the game.

Hardly "normal" to anyone who plays games on the side, but if you enter the gamers' world, you better be prepared for our "normal" because here you're the strange one.

Working out the math behind weapon damage output, and whatever other theories relevant to bettering yourself in the game, is engaging and moreover helpful to making you a more proficient player.

This thread, however does neither, and at the same time is pathetic.

To be technical, Cat Girls aren't normal to begin with.

Both of you probably should check other forum sections besides General Discussion, you'd be surprised just how much is acknowledged.

OP takes 9999 points of damage from Kittra's BLAST attack! It's super effective! OP has fainted.

    +1 for being awesome, Kittra.

SeleneSinclair she wasn't in anyway talking to me when she said what you quoted her on, if anything she was defending me and the topic not dealing 9999 points of damage.

It seems I am alive because she healed me for 9999 points of damage. You just read it wrong.

Was your battle log flooded or something?

I wasn't trying to blast anyone really, just futilely trying to explain why we're still posting in this thread to all the "Haha I can't believe you guys have an issue with <insert opinionated topic here>."

I see it from all 3 sides reasonably.

The Devs want to save money so they decided to cut corners. Which, I suppose, is a noble enough action when you factor in that they needed to get the game up, running, and making a profit.
The downside to this though, is that eventually those cut corners will limit your game development/improvement down the line just as surely as the PS3 "memory limitations" put a supposed block on them producing anything extreme in the future.

Those new to FFXIV:ARR, who may have played 1.xx for a short time or passed on playing it at all, never became involved/as involved with the game. "Perceived" issues voiced by other players, even minor ones, seem an attempt to sabotage a good thing for a ridiculous reason. The problem with this is that people who enjoyed pre-2.0 content/visuals/mechanics are always brushed off as "Those living with rose tinted glasses" or "Nostalgiaists," when really we want the game to succeed just as badly as everyone else, but we hate losing what little parts made it "our" game.

People in this thread, like the OP, asking for a return to "how it was" are not asking for something we didn't already have we're asking for what was normal at the time or an option to choose how it was. Problems here started the second the Developers decided to cut corners and change how things looked in the first place. Now, instead of new players becoming used to what 1.xx players would have called normal now we have 2 camps of "normal". At this point it is absolutely impossible to fulfill what the OP originally asked for, which was to change it back to how it was in 1.0-1.23 because everyone has made their characters how they like it.

The majority of dissatisfied people are those from 1.xx which are (unfortunately, and maybe fortunately) in the minority of the game population now. We had our characters how we liked them, and then SE cut corners... now our only options are to either live with it or voice our distaste and hope that at some point in the future, they make the right choice and give US a choice.

There is absolutely no logical reason why (especially after the game has settled down a bit) they could not offer us the option to change our look with bodies fashioned after 1.0's system or similar.
If your reason for posting here is "Lolz, this is stupid because I don't agree with it." or "I don't want a change because I'm happy with how I look and I don't think those unhappy with how they look should have an option to do the same." Then do us all a favor and don't post here. Really think about why it is so impossible for SE to change anything other than that it would cost them a little more money (like they didn't waste a ton of it already by releasing 1.0 AND 2.0 90% broken).

The only real arguement I've seen so far is that it "might" end up taking away from the Devs actually developing the game or fixing relevant issues, which is why throughout this entire thread the majority of us for a change or choice have been saying "eventually."

Now if SE closes this thread, I'll hold my peace. To me that's the final word on the subject and it's what they've done to many other threads. Here we are though! Still up and many pages after the Dev post, so I'll keep on asking for a choice and attempting to not lose my temper with the fathoms of "Well I don't want a change because I'm happy and you can't be." posts that make their way here eventually...

Yes and even the argument about this taking away from the Dev team working on other issues is debatable with the counter argument that many have said already about the fact that there are multiple teams who work on different sections on the game, and the visual side of things could easily be worked on while other teams sought out the rest of the issues we currently have.

The argument that it slows down the development of new content well yea it would effect some content but it would most likely only effect and slow down the development of new equipment but this I am ok with because I would rather they took their time making equipment slower and more effectively rather than having too much pointless equipment, or gear that gets out dated too fast because we are constantly replacing our armor with new armors and looks half as nice on our characters because the development team cut corners.
