You should probably learn that's business talk for "it's not going to change" especially considering it's a direct translation from Japanese - a culture that doesn't like to say "no" directly.
I do realize this, but it's my understanding that it's also a culture where if you make a promise you keep it. Anything less would be considered "dishonorable."
You know how I know they don't mean it in the business sense? Because other threads they've said "no" to, have been closed by a forum moderator shortly after the Dev response was given, no longer allowing feedback.
If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say they're riding this one out to see how much people care even after a Dev response has been given.
That JP thread which was posted as a direct link/explanation of this one fairly exploded with replies after the Dev response on it, with all of the ones I've read so far expressing their disappointment.

Sorry I stopped right there.. Since when is a characters ass considered a game mechanic in an mmo?

When I said "mechanic" I didn't mean it in the sense of something like the battle system.
The fact that they're telling us they reduced our caboose to make the process of creating gear cheaper because it would have taken to much time with the physics involved with multiple new races/genders being released relates it directly to game's mechanics in the sense of armor/clothing creation. So pretty much a Dev mechanic, much less a game mechanic.
Also, the first part of what I posted was related to your statement: "Honestly I can see why the Japanese Developers don't stray far from their home country's forums."
I only quoted the entire thing because people seem to get testy when you annotate. I then carried on with my own thoughts because General Discussion posts are limited to a few a day.
I'm not trying to put down your statements Ravij, and I agree with some of it. The part I don't agree with is that we should all keep silent now that the Devs have spoken because there's nothing they can do about it due to how the game is designed. The proof just isn't there that they "can't" do something about it, just that they "won't" which is what pisses me off. I don't like being lied to, especially where my money is concerned.
*EDIT*
Ah, you really did "just stop there" in regards to reading what I posted. I just assumed you were taking that section and asking a question about it... but now I see otherwise.Apparently you have no idea what you're even talking about. Aion was a PC Only game. FFXIV is a PC/PS3 game.
The limitations of the PS3 prevent the devs from adding everything they want in this game.
I have taken character modeling classes in college and the details do add up to me. The PS3 has limitations. In 1.0 they had to cease production on the PS3 version of FFXIV because of how the world received FFXIV initially. Yoshi literally tore the world apart and built it from ground up with the PS3 in mind and of course the PS3's limitations. So he was forced to axe off things to make it compatible with both versions.
And it seems my post cap has been reached. I'm going to request this thread be closed.
*EDIT#2*
I have each version of the game and regularly play both. I also understand about PS3 limitations. I also explained why that should have been a "non-issue" in the post that you "partially" quoted.

I can tell you're a PC player. Why? Because you don't understand the limitations that the PS3 has. Despite the game being brought out on PS4 won't change this fact at all because they won't stop production of the game for PS3. So the limitations will remain intact.I'm not trying to put down your statements Ravij, and I agree with some of it. PC's can be opened up and adjusted/upgraded to adapt to new technology. PS3's can't. To combat this they come out with a new version.

I shall be right here whilst you explain how a slight variation in the character mesh would cause the entire PS3 version to come crashing down due to it's limitations. You see your argument may hold some water if not for the fact that you can change the breast size and unless all characters have the exact same bottom half which they do not then it looks like your in a very leaky boat with the PS3 limitations angle.Apparently you have no idea what you're even talking about. Aside from you still focusing on the fact that the butt was mentioned I'm going to ask you a question.
If character visuals do not matter or effect game mechanics then why aren't people using more Roegadyn since racial stats dont matter in this game?
I agree with you that NA forums are annoying but I do not agree with how some things are being handled as in everyone being treated fairly.
Kittra: you are right. I am just trying to voice that the OP isn't unstable for noticing the character model being change. But its falling on death ears.

Player
I never said character visuals did not matter. I said this 68 page thread about a butt problem is ridiculous. Don't twist my words to play your game.
