I don't have a problem with people wanting bigger butts as an option, but that gif, for example, the second option makes her butt just look -weird- and not at all fitting to the stance she's in.
She's standing with her shoulders back and her chest and hips pushed forward. Her ass would not be shaped the way you're asking when her overall frame is so petite, even if she had large breasts for her size.
It's still entirely human-shaped. Just because her butt is flatter than you prefer doesn't make it less human-shaped.
Really, what you're asking for isn't her butt being bigger, though. You're asking for her stance to be adjusted so she's not pushing her hips forward. Her hips should be pulled back a bit further, which would give the illusion of a larger butt (or rather, dispel the illusion of a flatter butt).
This assessment from the perspective of an actual girl, for what that's worth. To be honest, I'd be ecstatic if I had as good a body shape as the Miqo'te.

Oh well lol I may have drawn it a bit too big but what can you do it's just supposed to be an example.
I think if they took the female Miquo'te into consideration because of the drastic change in body structure and shape they may consider adding just enough wait back into it's back and rear to represent the Human looking body shape again.
I think this new back our characters have is kinda not cool really, like SE hollowed out a massive chunk from our characters backs.
I really don't like this caved in back appearance. In 1.0 our characters had a completely human looking body shape.
Dose anyone know if it was this way the whole way threw 2.0 beta or if it changed at some point during 2.0 beta?

All they need to do to make it correct is simply tilt the pelvis back to how it's supposed to be tilted on a woman. The back shape is how it's supposed to be for the way she's standing. The pelvis is simply tilted like a man's rather than like a woman's. If they fix the tilt, then it'll shape the rear like it's supposed to be shaped.

It might just be me...but I don't see it. I played 1.0 and I honestly don't see any difference between the two. If there is a difference, its so minute its not really even worth mentioning. Claiming that its unfair to 1.0 players and that its so horrible you can't even enjoy the game because your character's posterior isn't as plump as you'd like, is overly-dramatic bluster. Personally, I found this thread to be just a tad ridiculous.
i agree, your all nuts, if you dont like the looks, roll a hume. you 1.0 players (i should say 'us' 1.0 players) each got an ambrosia, use it. (i still like my mithra just fine.)It might just be me...but I don't see it. I played 1.0 and I honestly don't see any difference between the two. Hello,
First off, apologies for the delay in responding about this topic. Below is a response from the lead designer himself, Takeo Suzuki.
Hello,
Lead designer Takeo Suzuki here.
We understand that you all care deeply for the detail and shape of your characters, and while the development team is really happy about this, we would like to keep the specifications for character’s butts as they are.
I’d like to explain a bit about why we changed the shape of character model’s butts. It all began when Yoshi-P and the character team sat down and reconsidered what should be prioritized for players when we moved from 1.0 to A Realm Reborn.
Based on this discussion it was decided to place emphasis on the below:
- New races (male Miqo’te, female Highlanders, and female Roegadyn.)
- Increase the amount of content and the amount of reward items (equipment and weapons)
(We want to make a team that can create more than four times the amount of rewards compared to what there was originally.)
As a result of thinking about what could be done to fulfill the above objectives all while converting everything over and optimizing all the data by completely remaking the graphics engine, we decided to reduce the cost by simplifying items that were too complex when making them. One aspect of this was the graphical display of waist equipment.
I deeply apologize for those of you who were really partial to what Miqo’tes looked like in 1.0, but this decision was made so we could relaunch with new races and a lot of new equipment. We will be implementing a wide variety of really cool looking equipment moving forward, and we appreciate your understanding on this.

When they decided to make waists smaller, they should have slimmed down the waist size on equipment as well at least. It looks very odd to have your shirt/dress/weapon floating a few inches away from everything else.
Food for thought.
Someone translated the basic premise of this thread and posted it on the JP forums, they began discussing it... That got the dev attention and a response was made in That thread.
This is just that getting translated and brought over.
