Doesn't really bother me but then again my gf has pretty much the same figure so.. kind of used to it I guess.
Aside from that though, who runs around looking at peoples butts?

When they decided to make waists smaller, they should have slimmed down the waist size on equipment as well at least. It looks very odd to have your shirt/dress/weapon floating a few inches away from everything else.
Food for thought.
Someone translated the basic premise of this thread and posted it on the JP forums, they began discussing it... That got the dev attention and a response was made in That thread.
This is just that getting translated and brought over.
Everyone in that OP is a creepy mofo, who needs to watch less anime.
It's not a lame reason, it's just one you're unwilling to accept. Face it, they did what they did because of PS3 limitations.
I've seen plenty of girls with asses flat as cardboard. I don't know if this represents any sort of majority in females though.
(Now I want to go find some study on this)

Actually, this does not appear to be a valid response. For one, it only speaks of the waist slot not being visible. That is NOT what we are asking for. We asked for the shape of the behind on Mi'quote to be returned to shapely. Similar to the other female races.Hello,
First off, apologies for the delay in responding about this topic. Below is a response from the lead designer himself, Takeo Suzuki.
As a result of thinking about what could be done to fulfill the above objectives all while converting everything over and optimizing all the data by completely remaking the graphics engine, we decided to reduce the cost by simplifying items that were too complex when making them. One aspect of this was the graphical display of waist equipment.

Thanks for assuming I missed the point, but I clearly understand the situation. You, and the others who keep saying this, are missing the point entirely. What if they decided to give all the characters tiny heads, or extend their necks to make us all look like giraffes?
Yes, we're talking about butts. Giggle giggle and whatever. That doesn't excuse the fact that SE screwed up the models, and gave us a pretty lame reason as to why they did it.
They didn't screw it up, they CHANGED it. You really need to stop using the wrong words just to make the situation seem more severe. Oh no you lost a few pixels, get over it.
Being an Elezen I already know what having a long neck and smaller head is like, you don't see me crying and demanding for it to be fixed or to make other races similar, in fact I like it, learn to live in a small-butt environment. Not like this is real life or anything.
Sorry but I do not think its counter productive to make the female characters look more female.
This game has high quality graphics, is it really so wrong to want the visual characteristics of your character to be anatomically correct? Any artist will look at the revised female character frame and see something is very off and even unappealing about it.
We are suppose to enjoy being our characters... why give us swimsuits only to look very unflattering in them? Sorry but I avoid using the swimsuit because its painful to look at my character from the backside and I'm a female.
This isn't completely related, but for me the thread title brings to mind what they did to the walk for Lalafell. It's hideous now. Not cute and adorable like it used to be. It's my main gripe with the game.
