Ability to turn off Linkshell icons and our own names

And you wonder why people mock you, Kitkun. The amount of coding needed to toggle the hideous abberations that are our own names and linkshell icons is perhaps so small that the amount of data needed to store it is negligible.

why do you keep calling me by that name anyway? I tuned it out till now. And dude really it adds up. If this was super importent and data used so small, why don't every game do that? I don't know any game that allows said ooptions. If i did I would prob agree with you. But point being if it was so lil and helpful it woulda been put in before launch. And honestly, why complain now? the game is 6 mnths old. You should brought it up way before now if it bugged you that much. Sorry kinda see this as complaining for sake of complaining.

And honestly this would do more harm then good, more so to newbies.

I think its just another thing the original team didnt fully conisder.

Currently we have less than what SE hoped for as a player-base. And even now I find the screen clustered with pointless random patterns and shapes that are meant to distinguish between "player groups".

Infact they don't.

I dread to think of what the current ls icon "sea" would look like with the player-base that SE is meant to be aiming for.

My suggestion.. give us back the circle ls's from XI.. again, it is one of those simple things that just 'worked' :/

A server eventually gets to know itself, who's who does not need noting by the random twirley pattern above your head

different theme pearls fot the theme of the first game, crests fit the theme for this game.

Anyways, I play FFXIV mainly for the graphics. God knows there's little else to entice me to play. So, I hope you can appreciate my not wanting to look at a whole lot of crap on my screen, impinging on my ability to enjoy the game. And if you think newbies want to look at a lot of crap too, then by all means, continue to make blanket assumptions about players you've never met and a game you've never so much as played.

which if given the chance will fill up with addons amirite? fyi its ADD not adhd there are 2 difference types. Also i'm typing out of concern of the game being to big to fit on my ps3. So ya I gotta right to make a case for that. And also its pretty lame to judge a person, or assume you know them.

Kilta, even if there were a toggle for every piece of UI would a new player even want to change anything? Why would they if they haven't even learned how to use the default UI? It's called customization for a reason. To accomodate to ones individual preferences.

They have a dedicated UI team that most likely works on UI and not on content.

The size of the update? We have broadband. If Square can't deliver patches because of bandwidth we have a problem. I.e., Blizzard asked me to download 6Gb data to play their latest WoW expansion (no DVD required).

What does being the person having "to type every / command just because you want to" mean? A slap on the hand for asking for customization?

We also need a way to /names off but somehow still see repair icons. I like playing with /names off but as a crafter you want to see those repair icons, so it ruins the whole experience.

Maybe they could add the name and icon to the hp bar kind of like how they added level next to the mobs when you select them.

Linkshell icons are repulsive. I don't want to look at them. Don't make me look at them!
