Regarding ingame server lag serious issues

Currently checking all the IPs posted here and all of them seem to get request time outs at the same frequency as mine.
Tracert also gets request time outs at Quebec, Canada.

For those who are still having problems, open cmd and type "ping 199.91.189.38 -t" without the quotes, then ping your own ip and the ips of the other people having problems.

If you get almost no Request Timed out from 199.91.189.38 and you do get them from your own/others that are alleged to be faulty then Square Enix needs to offer us some real explanation about this mess.

I just spent the last 3 hours, not playing this game but trying to help a friend into manipulating which server he would land on (by blocking his current laggy server ip) and it did not work.

If it still isn't resolved by tomorow, i'll try to set up a tunneling program so he can connect to the servers through my computer.

I logged in using HIS account on my computer and got 0 lag. I also ended up on a different server than him.

It seems like it may also be region based.
Aka some regions log into 2-3 specific servers, while someone 100 KM away (like me from my friend) will end up on a different server cluster.

Note : don't confuse a server with a world. 1 world (Hyperion) in my case is using many servers, the guy next to you is in the same world but probably not on the same server)

I am not getting much packet loss from all the faulty adresses people have listed, but i also live literally 1 hour away from the servers.

It's either Server Issue, or some piece of hardware out there is not functionning properly.

If i worked for Square i'd be doing a few phone calls right about now

Yup, the timeouts on my tracert are coming from there aswell.
I guess this is mostly felt on people with more than 100ms.

199.91.189.27:55030 for me. Experiencing the lag quite frequently just as the OP described. Everything freezes for 10 seconds and then suddenly moves in high speed to catch back up. I'm too scared to even try dungeons at this point.. can barely solo effectively without dying.

Regular play (crafting, gathering etcetera) result in minor spikes from time to time while dungeons are more frequent and hardmode+8 man dungeons are massive (up to 10 second spikes).

As Noticed in a previous tracert, it goes pass Cogentco as well as Ormuco.
Ormuco loses packets however.
38.122.42.34 is Cogentco as well, 192.34.76.2 is Ormuco. The bottom 2 are SE.

I would highly suggest using a program like winmtr http://winmtr.net/ to run a tracert for a bit to see the where the it is being dropped. You can then just let it run for a bit and output the text into a codebox here like

as you can see my problem begins in California and continues on to France and right into the main servers in Canada.

Since all of the NA servers link me through the California hosting service first I have the same problem regardless of the server

Also of note I've noticed a lot of these servers are using ports outside the range SE has stated the game uses.
