Hello All,

This may be greedy, and if it is just let me know. In 2010, I received the original FFXIV for Christmas. I was excited, but found that it would not work on my computer. I decided to keep it for when I got a better computer that could actually play it. Years passed, and no dice. Well, when ARR came out for PS3, I jumped on it, bought that version, and have started my journey. I have also recently gotten a new computer that can handle FFXIV, and also ARR.

I tried to install my old copy of FFXIV on my new PC, thinking based upon things I'd read online (don't ask me where; I've unfortunately forgotten) that I'd be able to update to ARR and then play as my character from my PS3 version on my computer. But, after installation I found that not to be the case. I went to the Mogstation to try and use the "add platform" feature, but when I tried to register the old game (thinking this might work instead for upgrading to ARR) it told me that it was already registered (which, I suppose it was, even though I was never able to get past the start-up screen when I installed it on my old computer in 2010).

Do you have any advice? Is there any way to upgrade my old copy of FFXIV to ARR? Should I just be happy with the PS3 version and chalk up that old Christmas present as a useless if well meant trinket?

Thank you!
