    Login/Lobby servers are shared between multiple worlds in the region, if not all of them. Your world may be 200, another may be 500. I'm seen queues with 500+ people in them for just that world. Just like the world capacity, it's not enough and should be more. SE acknowledged the mistake and are truly to fix it. What more do you want?

    The design for the login servers is bad; that's all. There's not much they can do about it now or in the short term. The infrastructure is just poor. All I'm doing is pointing it out. There isn't anything any of us can do about it.

    What I would have liked, however, was a little bit more forethought from the developers when it came to basic functionality like this. Maybe some more testing with respect to capacity earlier than phase 4, which is honestly where I saw this error for the first time. Even if their capacity limits were artificial.

    Actually, I'm sure most of the developers (and management) are looking at the current situation with 1017 and other errors right now and thinking: "Crap. We didn't expect this." I'm sure their current system seemed fine when they first wrote and implemented it. I've experienced the same thing a few times--the idea makes sense until its out in the wild and customers get a hold of it.

    I think one of the reasons the servers are always full is the fact that your session never times out regardless of how long you are idle. I went as far as 4 days without ever logging out, I would just leave it on to avoid spending 2 hours trying to log in. Unfortunately for me I ended up getting disconnected when porting to limsa lominsa this morning and have not gotten back in since.
