Hands down the worse and utter badly handled game release i have witnessed !

The website navigation is a complete mess...

the account system is far from any definition of intuitive as you can get. I cannot believe anyone with an education has their name attached to this mess. Not 1 but 4 places a person need to login to get various pieces of information..

1)SE account page
2) account management page
3) FFxiv page
4) and the Mog station....

This is more akin to something i expect from a highschool webdesign class....1st year!

not only That but halting sales of digital downloads, character creations and locking down servers right at the launch when your trying to convince people you didn't screw up a game for the the 2nd time because you played it cheap and decided to go with as few servers at launch as possible..

AND

Then sending out these codes to register for this and then ..ohh wait 3 days after the game has apparently officially launched lets lock people out of their accounts and let them go on a Goddamn waldo hunt for the friggin reason! I mean W in the serious F!

If it wasn't for the amazing community i would have never known why my account was locked or where to look for this new key i was supposed to enter..

Hats off to Square Enix and their staff for going for gold on the totally botched release. If F****g up a game release was a Olympic sport you would have the Gold, silver and bronze....I mean this one is for the history books. You just succeeded in making EA and SimCity 4 release look almost flawless.

Hats off to the community for figuring it out and doing SE's job for them ..

While the account system is rather amateur, it's pretty common for a game to lock people out that according to the system never bought the game. You needed to put the game's serial key in to prove you didn't just preorder then cancel when you got the EA key. Most MMOs do this. For the people stuck with two service accounts, well that;s a different issue and probably should not have been an issue if the accoutn system was more intuitive.

Add to the list some of the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with. Four days of trying, and still have not been able to talk or chat with anyone, let alone receive a promised response within 48 hours.

the issue wasn't they did it..

the issue was they never put anywhere clear that they did. I sat down..tried to log in and Voila..Surprise!!

How about some instructions from SE Customer service or the devs or i dont care..The damn janitors 3rd cousin twice removed...Someone from SE should have had a message and instructions in the launcher and the account page telling me WHY i can't log in and where to find the new key. Nothing..Nada..zip..zilch..zero sweet F**k all. It was the community thread that gave me the instructions. I shouldnt have to go hunting for the information ..it should be given to me.

This kind of nonsense makes people like me weary of wanting to spend anything extra on the game in the way of a subscription.
