With a 15% chance of HQing, using Unearth II you would have 5 attempts with a 45% chance of getting an HQ instead of a guaranteed one and 5 shards...The info on Solid Reason is a little misleading. It gives you an extra hit, but it does that by "refilling" the bar. You have to expend a hit before you can use it. So using it with Deep Vigor, you find a +1 node, take a swing, use Solid Reason and you'll get your 6th crack. If your node has a shard to extract, you have a guaranteed HQ item.
