    Mining - Deep Vigor and reduced gather attempts after beta...

    Deep Vigor - Increases the chance of obtaining regular or HQ items to 100%. Can only be activated after chain #4.

    So, I recall in the beta phase each gathering class had 5 chances to get items from a node. Then either Beta4 or open beta it was changed to 4 chances. I didn't think much of this untill I just hit 30 as a miner while trying to use the lvl 25 spell "Deep Vigor"

    Chain #4 can only be obtained on the +1 gathering attempt nodes.. Thus to use Deep Vigor you first have to find a +1 gathering attempt node, use Solid Reason (Grants another gathering attempt. 300GP), and pray that you don't obtain nothing in those 5 attempts. Then you can use Deep Vigor on the last and final 6th attempt for a guaranteed HQ.

    As it stands, me being only lvl30, I can't seem to find the reasoning this spell was not reduced to chain #3 when the gathering attempts were reduced.. Unless I'm missing something at the later levels that will make this viable it just seems to me as a waste now.

    It raises the chance of obtaining an item (not necessarily HQ.) The only purpose I see to this is to discover an unknown item. I've actually used it because the 25% was ticking me off. I collected shard for the first 3 attempts, used Solid Reason, another shard, deep rigor, and finally hit one of the unknowns to discover it. Other than that, it is pretty worthless.

    I think they just forgot to update this skill when they nerfed the gathering nodes on us. Botanists have this same skill named Brute Force, and I've been thoroughly unhappy with it since I got it.

    The only place it has any use imo is on fieldcraft levequests where the amount of gathers per node is what it used to be.

    These skills are mostly useful for the Unspoiled nodes, which by default allow for 6 gathers instead of 4.

    It should have been updated after the change to 4 hits vs 5

    Can't even use a 5 node (the gathering+ ones) .. as that ends with the 4 chain >.>

    Also can't burn 300GP to increase those to 6

    Haven't even seen an unspoiled yet .... Skill is completely useless

    The info on Solid Reason is a little misleading. It gives you an extra hit, but it does that by "refilling" the bar. You have to expend a hit before you can use it. So using it with Deep Vigor, you find a +1 node, take a swing, use Solid Reason and you'll get your 6th crack. If your node has a shard to extract, you have a guaranteed HQ item.

    With a 15% chance of HQing, using Unearth II you would have 5 attempts with a 45% chance of getting an HQ instead of a guaranteed one and 5 shards...
