    What we have here is a company who is negligent of keeping their end of a contract.
    They took our money, and they have not provided adequate service or support.

    Promises and tears are simply not enough here.
    They knew their unit sales numbers. They knew the type of hardware and server loads they would require. They knew the robust support they would need to hire.They knew what they were getting into. None has been delivered to paying customers.

    It's 2013, this type of release is simply unacceptable. Enough is enough.
    I filed, I hope you take the time to do so as well so they know they cannot do this time and time again.

    The BBB can't do anything, most video game companies ignore them anyways, almost all international companies do as well. Likely something to do with having to pay to be "accredited" and many people proving they can pay for good grades for companies that don't even exist. The BBB is not what it started out as. I can guarantee you that Square Enix is just going to ignore them like Blizzard, Valve, and many other game companies do.

    You do realize that the BBB is just a collection and reporting agency. Yes they contact businesses to discuss the issues at hand, but it is nothing more than a complaint collection agency. Go look at Blizzard's or Bioware's report, thousands of complaints, but still in business. If filing this makes you feel better, awesome, because that is all that it is designed for.

    The BBB was designed as a watchdog back in the days where people walked into stores or called them over the phone to purchase services and goods. In today's market it does nothing but collect complaints.

    I'm sure your next step is hiring a lawyer and starting a class action right?

    Pretty sure the "Better Business Bureau" has no power here, especially since Square Enix is a Japanese company? They don't shut businesses down, anyway, they just compile complaints against them as a reference point. I think we all know what the complaints are...

    BBB still relevant? Last time I heard they were blackmailing small businesses demanding a sum so they could do a thorough "investigation". If you didn't comply, they would threaten your reputation by giving your company a c+ on their website!

    That' what they did to a boss of mine last fall. He said "Meh, it's just the BBB" They are no better than mobsters collecting protection money now.

    Everything that has happened is well within the TOS that has to be agreed to in order to use the software. Because of this, we only have two options:

    1> Get a refund from the retailer you bought the game from
    1> Wait patiently

    If you opt for the refund, bear in mind that the SE store sales are not done by SE. Therefore, there is no point in raising thunder on the forums, or the support system. Digital River is who you need to contact, and I highly doubt they have any involvement with either. If you purchased from somewhere else, it should be obvious that they are not involved with SE at all.
