A few helpful, but noobish questions.

    Hoping for a good answer.

    1) No matter how balanced an MMO is, a few classes always stick out as being better than others or at the very least more often needed in a party. To that end, which classes are the most sought-after in mid/endgame?

    2) Relating to that question, what is the most efficient way to level your classes (and I don't mean which mobs to grind or quests to do)? When I played for a few days in 1.0 I was advised to level... I think it was Thaum at the time but now it's Conj... up to the point where you get Heal so that you can use it to supplement potions while leveling other classes. Now, I've already done so, so I have that part finished. However, as far as the other classes go, is it better to level them all together, or to min/max like a D&D stat sheet? Yes, I min/max my dexterity and cunning on a rogue, stop looking at me funny ;P
(The forum is telling me the post is too long, so let me see if I can split it into two replies)

    3) Equipment. Again, drawing on a lot of experience from other MMOs there are always "best" intervals to upgrade your gear. It's usually unwise and a waste of money to upgrade your gear at every small interval they give. Does anyone have a general, good strategy on how often you should be upgrading your gear? I don't have piles of gil... I have anthills, so knowing the most efficient way of going about this would very much help.

    4) Crafting. Yet again, this is from previous experience. Usually a few crafting skills are relatively worthless, and some should be leveled as soon as possible. I'm wondering if the system is the same here, and if so, which crafting skills should be prioritized.

That's all I have for the moment, though I'm sure I'll come across more, likely soon. Any help someone could provide would be very much appreciated.

If you took the time to read all of this I'm glad, considering they are burning questions.

If I get answers to these questions I'll add the answers (with credit) to the OP and request that it be stickied as I think these are helpful beginner guides for those new to the game.

And again, I'm sorry for the rant :/

Ah thank you! Tanks and Healers are usually looked for in other MMOs, so I figured it was the same here. As far as occasionally leveling side classes, I did not know about the exp boost. Again, I appreciate the help.

    1) Tanks and Healers are less in number than DPS so they are "more sought after" just because there are less of them available. Each job in its respective role performs just as admirably in that role as anything else.

    2) It's more time efficient to focus on 1 class with occasionally side-class leveling on the side, due to the fact that you get +50% xp for any class that isn't your highest leveled one.

    3) Every 5-ish levels seems like a decent rate.

    4) Each craft has a REALLY GOOD skill available at some point, most of their skills are shared.
