Will the World Transfer Service be free?

I'm sure there's already a thread on this, but if not hopefully someone with a lot more information than me can shed some light.

I had to purchase a Hard Copy today to register, and I cant join up with my brother and friends currently on Hyperion. I read while utilizing the Mog Station they are going to set up something similar to what they had in FFXI, but that was a chargeable process, and I'm curious if they are planning on charging everyone to move to their desired servers free of cost due to their inability to facilitate North America's server volumes?

I heard they are going to be increasing capacity for the current servers so you might be able to make one on that server yet.

This is just a guess, but I would imagine they might open up free transfer to alleviate the overpopulation they currently have on some servers as well.

Typically, free transfers are from overpopulated servers, to underpopulated ones. I don't think they will give completely "free" transfers to people to move to what ever server they want though. It would be nice for people that can't really play with their friends because of server loads, but I honestly wouldn't expect it, since it hasn't really happened much in other MMOs, so there's no precedent there.

It would be nice if SE would show the server populations to us when we choose them. This way we can actually make a sensible decision and not get stuck on an over-populated server by accident.

i dont see them doing free char transfers.. they would get a huge flux of 100-400k transfers probably if it hey did lmao.. seems 1 in 3 ppl want to join friends
