Non-Legacy 1.0 Player can't play now...

I have no idea what to do... I bought the original 1.0 version years ago for $60 and I still have the case and registration code sitting in my desk...

When I try to log on it now tells me that my account is not registered or active, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to register it. I was under the impression that since I bought the $60 1.0 version already, I wouldn't need to buy the game again... Anyone know what to do? I can't find info on this anywhere.

I bought XIV for 5 euros back in V1.0 right before A Realm Reborn got anounced, and I just downloaded the client and logged in with my old account without any issues.. Did you try log into the square enix site with your account?

Yes it lets me log in wherever it's just saying I don't have access to the game for some reason.

Firstly you need the new client. 1.0 client is useless.
I'm not sure where you download the client now. Maybe via Mog Station.

did you ever register your 1.0 key? I had an unused 1.0 key and was able to successfully register it to my existing service account as soon as the mog station went live. just make sure to "add/register new platform".

Yes I played back in 1.0 so I did use it back then. I tried to register that code just a bit ago to get into the game but it was too short and didn't work.

And you used your existing 1.0 service account when you played beta and early access in 2.0, correct?
