Bound gear.

I had lnc at 21 from 1.0 and I geared it in 2.0 but decided to not play it yet and wait so I went repair the gear too 100% from npc and put it on my retainer to sell but I am unable to sell it because its bounded to me. Is there a way to unbind it or am I doing it wrong...?

lol no what it is is gear that they decided to no longer have in rotation so you'll notice it's called dated gear. only thing to do is get rid of em. You can't unbind them, only dispose of them unless they still have stats then keep to your discretion.

Its not dated gear, this is new stuff I bought from the market boatd and will kill like 5 enemies and decided to wait so I go to resell cause it was like 30-40k gil and its not letting me. Does it have ro be spirit boumd in order to resell it or are we juat screwed omce we buy things?

You can buy things, put them on and see how you look in it and turn around and put it on the market again. But once you kill a single thing with it on it now becomes bound to you. Only thing you can do is make materia out of it.

this doesn't happen with all gear, just some. :/ which kinda sucks, considering the second hand gear market was how players were able to keep their gil circulating and afford to upgrade.

Edit: ah, nope, happens with all gear, i just hadn't been paying attention. D: this sucks, i always used to hand down my old gear to linkshell newbies.

I think they did not want this to happen this time around because it gave too much of an advantage to these "handed down to players" so they have to make someone pay the price and that is that someone cannot have used it. I don't think it is that big of a deal. You can covert most into Materia so it is not always lost.
