Strange, Unexpected Frame Issue~

Hello everyone! I come here with an issue I hope someone can assist me with. See, I recently purchased a gaming computer within the range of two months or more. Ever since I obtain the desktop, I was capable of playing any game I wanted to try out. I have been enjoying my time with it until something strange decides to occur.

As I said before, I am new to PC gaming, so I probably might not be able to give you an accurate answer like others. However, I am positive this explanation will give you a sense of the trouble I have been having with this game alone. Before I jumped into Early Access, I was confident my computer could play on maximum settings. Although I have been playing without worry on such high settings, something strange happens.

Either minutes or hours after playing on full screen. The game itself somehow removes its screen for a few seconds and then comes back. After that mysterious occurrence, the frames I had before dropped to 9-17. Pondering what was going on, I called Alien ware for assistance. I was pleased to here there was nothing wrong on my side. Someone was kind enough to take their time and check if everything was alright. After he confirmed nothing was wrong, he also told me the game probably has some issues.

Now, I know the game still has some issues they need to fix such has allowing people to log in a stuff, but I do not remember them informing issues regrading the frame rate of players. I know nothing can be wrong from my side because I have been playing Guild Wars 2 since I have gotten this desktop. Throughout my time I never encountered something this strange.

I post here not only for confirmation wither or not it is true this game is experiencing some others issues regrading player's frames and such, but also to know if others are experiencing the same issue. Oh, and if possible, some advise. :)

Should I wait a few weeks till the game fully functional in order to no longer experience what I went through?

For those who need to know what desktop I am using, it is a Alien Ware x51. The Graphic Card inside is a GeForce GTX 660.

Mine is doing the same thing on a GTX 680 connected to a 42" plasma. I've been able to fix it by tabbing out of the game and going back in to it. Sometimes it will happen again, though. I;ll probably play with some different drivers to see if that fixes it for good, but I was hoping there would be a fix form SE's side as well.

Ah, great! Happy to know I am not the only person. Hopefully they are more people out there and those who know how to fix this issue.

If you're running an Nvidia card, I hear there are some troubles if you have 3d vision enabled, and that by disabling that, a lot of weird things stop happening.

Im running an alienware laptop myself and the issue im having is that occasionally my game on max settings will freeze (once every 4 hours or so), But the game itself doesnt freeze just the video, i can hear the sound of my char able to move, cast, and attack, but my screen is literally stopframed on a single frame. When this happens i have to close teh whole game out (ctrl+alt+del) and restart client to fix it. Any possible idea whats causing that? im running a gt750m graphic card descrete, again its max settings on prettymuch everything.

Could be that your gpu overheats, gets disabled, and you get switched over to the onboard one.

@WillTheNinja: I think I know what you are talking about. As I looked around the 3D settings, I noticed that I left the settings to "use the advance 3D image settings". The description under it says that I have more control over my 3D settings. The one I plan on clicking is "Let the 3D application decide. Picking this one states that it is used for 3D games or applications that use different settings. Is this what you are referring? By the way, thanks for leaving your thought on the matter!

@Vex: Have you called them for assistance? When I did, they checked my computer, making sure there is nothing wrong going on. Who knows? Maybe you are on the same boat, but with a different issue.

this is a relativly brandnew computer, only a month or so old since i took it out of hte box, Ive got Speccy watching my temperatures and htey stay at a steady 50c, wich is quite cool for a high grade GPU, especially in a laptop. I havnt called in yet as this is the only game its happened to so far, Bioshock Infinite and Secret world play on max settings at perfect fps with no issues for many hours of gameplay. It may be an underlying problem with nvidia and SE's software , as ive heard reports of alot of issues regarding the two conflicting eachother

Well, I did switch the settings to the one I mentioned on my previous post. I assumed it would work, but sadly the same situation comes back. I am not sure if that is what Ninja was referring to. If so, then sadly it did not work.
